The Speedport W920V is the first modem router, which has the necessary for T-Entertain VDSL modem built equal. A feature that is not even in the 7270er Fritz! Box, the current top model of AVM, are.
Features? Here is a small and non-exhaustive selection:
integrated VDSL modem (stable even under full load at 50 Entertain connection)
WLAN at 2.4 and 5 GHz. incl. 300 Draft-N (a / b / g / n)
DSL telephony
DECT base station
ISDN support via an internal S0 port (no fallback to ISDN possible)
Connection for 2 analog devices (fax / Fon etc.) on the back
integrated AB
Integrated USB connector (FTP access and Samba server; for sticks, external HDDs, and as for network printers, etc., but unfortunately no "USB remote connection like AVM)
4-port switch 10/100, connection for external switch over LAN1 possible
Firewall with port forwarding, filtering of logs etc.
Automatic configuration of 16.000+ and T-Entertain connections
DynDNS for verschd. Providers
...
With me (Attention Beta model, so it can be different in the final version may!) Came the device incl. Printed manual, DSL ISDN and LAN cables and an adapter TAE on RJ45.
The installation went within one minute, access pure (at the very beginning worked automatic configuration is not) and the machine synchronized. And with real peaks!
Then only a WLAN -is factory secure, (up to WPA2 with AES-CCMP possible), the entered MSNs and the DECT base a (works with T-Sinus devices as well as with Siemens Gigaset 4000 micro) - Done! Telephony (landline and DSL) stands, wireless access for all PCs and laptop within seconds. Since other routers are still far from clear.
The unit is on my connection absolutely stable and passed all DSL stress tests with flying colors.
Disadvantages of a panacea, unfortunately, anyone who looks at the image determines that none of the three antennas was carried out. This in itself visually nice design leads to my W920V WLAN miserable, but which could not be confirmed by all beta participants. With the first FW (the attached image already shows the 2.FW within the test) there were still problems with Draft-N-Sticks, who dived with me but with the new FW not on. With the help of an old AVM 3170er as a WDS repeater (facility less than a minute) has the problem dealt with quickly with the small wireless radius.
Contact to the media receiver (T-Entertain) runs smoothly, especially the new FW for the receiver irons in combination with the W920V the blunder that example. Even fabricated a W900V, very good.
