The Nexus Player provides an Android Tv - shows set-top box that allows any TV that has an HDMI input free to make an Android TV set. The device itself is externally uninspiring. It's a relatively compact circular box that you put even by power supply to a socket and even a HDMI cable to the TV. One thing is very important here. There is no HDMI cable included. Batteries for the remote control but already !. The unit as well as the remote control are processed neither noble nor bad. Everything is made of plastic. The only thing that is lit somehow even the little lamp on the bottom of the player which symbolizes that he is on and a lamp on the remote control shows the the well is at or function is ready.

Android TV is an operating system for TVs. At first glance it looks like Fire Tv OS and can also be controlled similarly. The differences lie in this case in detail and in the apps.
With Android Tv however you can access all content from Google Android to access ie on the Android-Tv-play goals and on Google's own apps like play music, games, movies not on Amazon Apps such as Instant Video. With Amazon devices such as they can not take on the Google's own services, but only to Amazon Instant Video, and on the Amazon PlayStore access. This is but with far less ausgestatet Apps (general) which currently is not noticeable here at the TV.
Using the remote control to navigate through the menus. You can search for example in PlayStore using voice input to do something with me to a 100% hit rate led. Respect. Also recalls the design and the way how everything is built somehow on Android 5.0 and also provides material design standard like this.
I see great potential here. In addition, the player ALL Chromecast Features has (streaming from a PC or mobile phone).

1) listening to music via Google Play Music or comparable streaming apps. Works fine, just like when Chromecast.
Watch 2) Films works on streaming services like Netflix etc or Play Movies. Without problems. Which I have to say quite clearly that Amazon, with its instant video has a better deal especially if you're Prime member.
3) games. That's where I think is the core of the whole hidden. I find this box in particular as a way to play games on TV without delay Android. And it works amazingly simple and good. I tested a few games. Asphalt 8 and Rayman Fiesta Run. The first looked at the first place of great and could be controlled just fine. The second also looked great from, read also control fine but I noticed some jerkiness, which I thought was a pity! I think here are updates needed.
4) There are also many other apps which add functionality, such as a Browers or so. However, the not worked so well.
5) Youtube is the app also pre-installed and allows a quick and easy opening of the video :)
Conclusion?
The Android TV player "Nexus Player" is in my opinion sound system with small PreFormance weaknesses. Navigate through the menu works fine. Updating and downloading relatively quickly. But in some games it has a few problems. I recommend to jedenall a game controller. While there are only a very manageable collection of games but this makes up a lot of fun. It may even be that they have bought as in the case of the game Rayman in advance and have to buy it for Android TV Not again :)
Things like local streaming a la Chromecast works anyway class. Watching movies etc too :) I'm curious where the future leads and may each want to follow the development of Android Tv and want to have a little Android games console thoroughly recommend to buy the Nexus Player. The first update is also already available Android 5.1 came very timely to notice. Brought but barely visible changes. Who, incidentally, a more powerful Android Tv Player looks for the same price, which was possibly still waiting for the Forge Tv Player of Razor (from 1 May Available in USA).
I hope I could somehow help them in their decision. If you believe that I'm here for you. I would like to look forward in like a review. Criticism is also desirable :)
