A reinstall Win7 was always necessary because trashed and the SSD upgrade brings now significantly long battery life,
a very fast Windows start (14 seconds says BootRacer 3.8) and much less heat that is
my fan rotates barely audible, even if I have the X4G laying in bed!
Only during gaming, the fan is still audible.
Important to mention would be that the CPU Throttling was initially quite annoying.
Once I started, for example, Mafia 2 was do nothing more ... but that can be bypassed easily by
a power plan with CPU max. Utilization to 99% created.
Thus, the Turbo is disabled and the CPU remains nice and cool! ;-)
And Mafia 2 runs on high details with AA over 40 FPS, making it absolutely playable.
Of course, only at the native resolution of the built-in display.
Also NFS Shift2 runs smoothly on max. Details incl. AA.
So as a small LAN party machine so perfectly suited for everything else one has still a large
Computer with GTX 580 ...
I am glad to have anyway bought it.
Performance, appearance and processing are adequate.
Although such is not quite at Apple levels that X4G looks quite stable and not cheap.
The sound is very good, better does not sound an Asus G73 also.
What would Asus but nearly cost one star is strongly dependent on viewing angle display (up / down)
and this partly extremely loud BluRay Combo LW from LG which has been built here.
That is not gonna work, sounds almost like a vacuum cleaner.
This drive I will soon replace even by a Sony Blu Ray burner and
then the notebook also has a decent drive.
My tip to ASUS: rather require a little more and it does not save the display and the drive,
customers will cope with it and thank you! ;-)
Otherwise I can only recommend this notebook to anyone who wants a small FLOTTES notebook.
I first wanted to buy a Ultrabook and MacBook Air to me,
but here I get for about 60% of the price, the 200% performance and a (albeit loud)
BluRay drive on offer.
After a few weeks my battery making now true five hours surfing (no Youtube) possible.
Because certainly goes even more if I continue dimme the display and balanced on
Ernergiesparen servicekit Change! ;-)
Great device, thank Asus!
