I own the lens now a good year and in that time it has grown to me right to my heart. Attached to the good old D50 the team runs on top form to true. With the sighting of prey after a shooting there are still moments when my fascinating sharpness of the optics, the buttery smooth Bokeh and the bright colors drive up the hackles that are just the moments, which can be a non-photographer convey difficult.
Even the haptic EX lens is a delight. For me, the more favorable compared to the Nikon counterpart of materials plays only a subordinate role. Everything feels very high quality of the zoom ring runs silky on the pleasantly tight side and the tripod mount can be brought precisely metered to secure hold on power.
The included scattered light aperture is divided into two parts and in the extended for Crop cameras a little fiddly variant. I do not use the extension and had nevertheless with flares or sluggish contrasts so far no problems.
The OS does not work quite as efficiently as the Tamron AF 70-300mm of which I have retested short, 2-3 aperture steps are still possible in everyday life and it is quite amazing how sharp shooting still free in daring long exposure times from can make hand. The autofocus is very fast thanks to HSM and meets accurate in 98% of cases at the first attempt.
The biggest drawback of the Sigma is probably the most that my other lenses no longer enjoy the status that they enjoyed before the entry of this force Grumpy in my camera bag.
