At this point I must add that this is not my first camera bag. I already have a Minitrekker, a Street & Field 300-Che (today Stealth Reporter 300), a Stealth Reporter 550 and some small accessory pockets and lens case that on the pockets (special loops) or can be attached to a separate belt.
Honestly, I have to admit here that I have a certain Vorliege for LowePro - but any time other good and / or solutions chiquen oven confront.
Waistbelt- or hip pockets I had never tried before. Property me therefore somewhat informed and came across some ways that I wanted to see. That's why I ordered some bags:
- The Lowepro Onverse 200
- The Lowepro Inverse 100
- The Kata W92
- The Kata W94
- As well as the Street and Field Deluxe Waistbelt including Tragehilfe
The Katas could not convince me whole. The W-92 was initially questioned because the pictures on the Kata site made me believe that one can lenses that do not fit in the pocket because of its length / height would fit into the extra pockets outside. That's not the case - the pockets are also too small and the lens would not be very well protected. The included strap to use the bag as a shoulder bag can be worked fairly primitive. Another drawback: There is no compression straps that will bring the bag in packed state something closer to the body, to the days erleichter. Positive the glebe interior is noted. I think just because small parts are better to find. Also positive (and the reason why ichmich have dealt in detail with the bags): The ability to combine with the Kata Backpack (very well shown on [...]).
The Kata W-94, however, is outwardly a very large bag. The capacity is, however, yoy. the Inverse 200 back. This is because, since the main compartment is separated from the two side pockets. This concept results in limited flexibility when it comes to larger lenses (a 2.8 / 70-200 is in the Inverse 200 alongside two other lenses not a problem). Nor is it the entire cargo area with a view to "cover opening", the side bags have to open separate cover - which could be sometimes annoying. The lid of the main compartment opens away from the body. To this end, the zipper must also circumferentially along the body are drawn - and that could be a bit annoying if you are carrying the bag on a thick jacket or is blessed with corpulence.
The Kata W94 acts outwardly powerful - too mighty for me. Although here we have a compression straps, but that is not entirely placed at the optimum position and therefore largely ineffective.
Let's talk about the two inverse bags. The 100 is actually too small. Camera with two small lenses and very few accessories. The external size difference seems to be too low, as I on the flexibility - want to miss - that gives me the capacity of 200. In the 200 I have a 5D including 70-200, which housed 2.8 / 90 and also the 17-40 including extra batteries and a polarizing filter.
That was a very nice weight - but still comfortable to wear due to the optimally positioned compression straps. The inverse is slightly higher than built as the Katas. Therefore, the inverse has 200 much interior despite compact external dimensions. For memory cards, there are two pockets on the inside of a double zipper upward openable lid pocket. Best handling and best capacity of the presented bags.
In addition, there are two outside pockets for drinking bottles available and an insertion pocket for example for a map or travel documents.
The Waistbelt including carrying aid - this team I had originally favored - did not somehow fit together. The attachment points for the carrying aid were placed so that all somehow not harmonized.
When should I use the inverse?
Mostly I have parallel to a small Fotorucksack used (the big things behind, the smaller then in the hip bag). Alternatively, during walks with the family: Despite camera I always at least one hand free for our children.
Oh, almost forgot: It is a comfortable strap, so - so you can switch between hip and shoulder.
The bag Lowepro Inverse 200 sums up a lot of equipment - even a D3 or 1DS could be housed together with some optics and accessories.
The bag gets a very clear recommendation. The bright interiors of katas it would have given all the points.
The Inverse 200 is certainly one of the best Waistbelt bags.
