Open Me (CD)

Customer Review

Experimental jazz training, mix of progressive rock, Zeuhl of ethnic jazz and funk, which here is the second album, Electric Epic is dominated by the incredible saxophone Guillaume Perret. His play at the incredible fluidity is enhanced with multiple effects (wah, delay, distortion, fuzz etc.) to guarantee originality. But his companions are not left out: a very effective guitar rhythm but not stingy with devastating solos (sometimes on the verge of Metal), and a protean rhythm section as comfortable in a Zeulh to Magma in a jazz more academic.
It has often been said that Guillaume Perret & Co were even more impressive on stage than on disk, it is obviously true but this' Open Me "fixes it with a warmer production. Needless therefore, to specify that the owners of the first opus must acquire it as quickly, for others it is the opportunity to discover an affiliate training in jazz but offer more. The future of jazz found its leader is Guillaume Perret!
