Since I did not want to re-use the graphics card, I looked first for a. It was clear, it should be one of Nvidia. (Unfortunately I have done with ATI only by adult experiences) also was clear to me that this should be quiet. After reading a couple of tests and had seen the often criticized 3.5GB GDDR Ram with eye rolling, I opted for a GTX970. So I went to the search for a place and the Phantom variant from Gainward. This joined a sound absorbing housing and a silent power supply and a CPU fan also quiet.
After all parts were gathered together and mounted, I realized after commissioning fixed with joy that my concept came up. The computer is extremely quiet, no "pin drop to the floor listening" -leise. And without water cooling. The main goal of silence was so fulfilled. And after I now for almost a week have the computer in operation, I can also confirm the performance. As I said, I found the 3.5GB now not very painful. Latest games I have put on maximum settings and even the volume and performance is optimal. In some games but then sets the infamous buzzing, but this fades after a short time. Since this flight disappears and my main and all secondary objectives have been achieved, there is of me full credit.
In summary:
- Extremely quiet
- Class performance
- Almost unbeatable price in this class
But who is looking for a nice graphics card, this is not here. It is standing on a black box. Pretty, silent and do not fit together very low maintenance. : D
