The now fifth part of the series to Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain weaves the storyline continued, which was introduced on the last page of its predecessor "Dark Days": Valkyries true name is Darquesse, the person in front of which currently is afraid the whole magical world. The first half of the book deals almost exclusively with accordingly Valkyries attempts to change their destiny. That your partner conceals their problems skulduggery and her friend Fletcher, their situation not just simplifies. In the second part of the book then something happens, what has been as good as expected after reading "Dark Days". The events cost a person cherished life and make room for the cliffhanger at the end of the novel, which is that a more loving person recovered suddenly she is no longer. (By the way, I tend to think in this situation definitely of Ghastly.) All in all, "Mortal Coil" another good book, but does not quite reach the previous and especially "Dark Days" approach. Valkyrie, now 16 years old I am left a little too pale in this book. The plot is only in the last third of the book as exciting as one would expect after reading the previous (which is not to say that the beginning is boring). For my taste, would have liked to take place more dialogues between Skulduggery and Valkyrie - they exist, and they are just as funny as ever, but for the length of the book, there are not enough. Still not a fan "Mortal Coil" to be missed, because you but that gets a large part of the work, what you expect from a Skulduggery Pleasant-book.
