There are also a few downsides: as the size in your pocket is borderline, but still ok. Anyway, more pleasant than the Grade 3 that I had before. Also one should delude ourselves that there will be not all Android apps. Those who the Google Play services need to z.Bsp. Display cards, it will not create the BlackBerry without tricks on the edge of legality. But one is not also spied so unrestrained.
Right now I'm very happy with the BlackBerry Passport, but the crucial question will be whether it is small enough that I always take him. Only then he will be a success for me.
Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
Up to this point I had the Review written on the Passport and left with the intention of typos in it. On the PC, the writing is but then again much better possible. Nevertheless, typing on the BB Passport was better than anything I previously knew of smartphone or tablet and when I do not need more PC in the future evening to answer even mails, because it goes with the BB while on the go, then this is really Great.
On the subject of mobile phone cases: here possibly could fit bags for LG Vu that has almost exactly the same dimensions as the BB Passport, but is slightly thinner. If anybody has more information or experiences, please post!
Here are a few additions:
- The concept of Blackberry Blend, where one allows the exchange of data from PC and smartphone similar to Apple, I like huge! You can access via PC / MAC wirelessly or via USB to the most important functions on the device. I mean Smart Watches are so nice to content from the smartphone to see on postage stamp size ;-) But if I am the office PC can read about Blend mails from BB and answer without having to dig the "passport" from the pocket, then the (Sorry ) Super Cool! I have to try something else in practice, however. So far it works very well thought out. If BB now brings the Software as a portable version for installation on a USB stick, then I begging on Amazon that I can forgive 6 star ;-)
- Assistant (the Siri competitor BB) makes a good impression, but has potential for improvement: Turn on airplane mode: closed immediately. How is today the weather: folded. But unresolved issues as Siri does not work, then you need only say Google, and then what you want to know. This is not as far as Android and Apple, but for me easy to get over ...
- At the new keyboard that also functions as a trackball, I'll still have to get used something. That the shift key is displayed only, I find less than optimal, otherwise I'll be fine at first, but must from typing and make short breaks to extra functions, such as to use the word suggestions, I had just the Z10 / Z30 never used before. Also the cursor mode is pretty good so far, but I think also because I'll get used to even better. As you type, I always take both hands, I mean one-handed operation is not, but maybe there are other opinions. Somewhere I read, the keyboard is not backlit. Of course that Quark, the lighting is perfect!
Final is the haptic feedback of the keys, so the stop or the pressure point for me great. That's how I like it!
- The display readability in sunlight is super!
- The images from the camera like me really well so far, but I previously made pictures especially in good sunlight. The videos seen on TV really good.
- The battery lasts with me so far prima, depending on usage with me so far 2 - 3 Days. I turn on the device, however, even at night in airplane mode and have very little phone, but many tried (e-mail, surfing, install apps, etc.)
- Who does not know the BlackBerry 10, which should be said that the operation via gestures is really great and I caught myself on the score 3 times as I wanted to turn on the device via the BB gesture with a mop or switch to the home screen. That's just well thought out and we missed it quickly to other devices.
- Here it is still a few apps that are otherwise already for BB 10 there, z.Bsp the Kindle app there would be, but is not available for the Passport. Too bad, would do just here on the device sense. Apparently, the homework was not done here but I think that is only a matter of time.
The technical specs are top:
- 4 core Snapdragon 801 with 2.2 GHz and 3 GB RAM
- 32 GB Memory + Micro SD Slot. I do not need more!
- Battery with 3,450 mAh -> Top
- HSPA + and LTE Cat 4 with max 150 Mbit downstream, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi ac (in the 2.4 GHz band wireless n only)
- Multimedia Edition with HDMI via the micro USB jack or streaming with Miracast, DLNA and UPnP
- 4.5-inch display with 1440 * 1440 pixels = 2 MPix display as Full HD displays. I mean there are 453 ppi -> very sharp.
- 13 Mpix camera with optical image stabilization. 2 MPix front camera.
Final has done with the Passport a really big step that you can actually do with a portable device and not tablet and smartphone entrains BlackBerry. Only in the evening on the couch, the iPad is clearly superior, as does a 10-inch display just more fun.
Update 2 (17.Oct), after almost 3 weeks with the Passport: The bag (Fitbag) has arrived and so has the size in your pocket surprisingly OK and bothers me much less than a grade 3; while sitting I nevertheless take the Passport often get out of the pocket. Note on bags: There are also very chic bags of SIMON PIKE, I had for the Q10 just a, but unsightly bruises left in the paint, because the device minimally protrudes on one side of the bag and right there is a seam ( therefore caution).
The battery lasts me about 3 - 4 days and the phone quality is with me (a region where other smartphones problems have) really very good! The stability and performance of BB 10.3 is OK, but has recently "some scratches get in the paint": once the music player has got a music app in your hair and even let the flight mode not turn and only a reboot helped. But that had been individual cases.
Also, there are some websites, z.Bsp the Conrad, where the display will not really work and you have to scroll and zoom with your fingers a lot. But this is a website that is fully designed on a desktop and only with the Galaxy Mega in landscape mode manages the representation of good, even the iPhone 6plus can not properly represent the good. And the Mega is rather a small tablet than a smartphone. Pages that are designed for viewing with a tablet, I feel very comfortable on the Passport.
Even a quick update (24.10)
Meanwhile, I have the Passport for 3 weeks and for me it works very well. The size fits well enough in the pocket that I have it always with you and I'm little thought to have him regularly invite, the battery lasts just very long! Last night I was then shocked something because I saw my MacBook in front of me and I really had no desire to make it on to check z.Bsp emails, including. It is now true that I have not used in exactly these three weeks the laptop to mails to answer in 5 years with countless smartphones for the first time. Check short, what has come to mails to iPhone and Androids were already good, but this is new. In fact, it should be read with the BB Passport not only very pleasant e-mails, but I can write it also prima emails. The iPad, however, I take the evening again as the primary device for surfing on the couch. Thus, at the moment the laptop is the loser.
