1.) When I'm Gone
The album opens with a soulful piano intro, which then picks up momentum and sweeps properly. The content is a matter of not too much to cling to his riches and possessions that you anyway can not take for life. For me, definitely one of the best songs of the album.
2.) On My Level (feat. Too $ hort)
"On My Level" is a very crunk-heavy number that significantly gloomier comes as the introduction to the album. In this regard, the song a bit from the rest of the style of the plate falls. Although is not one of my favorites, but you can listen to time.
3.) Black and Yellow
The flagship track on par "Rolling Papers". This track (an ode to his hometown, whose colors are black and yellow) stormed Wiz Khalifa end of 2010. No. 1 on the Billboard charts in the US and ended up abroad great success. Also in German clubs could be heard this song! A real classic!
4) Roll Up
It continues with another single release. "Roll Up" is a mix of thoughtful and cheerful, which I like very much! The chorus is great and a praise to a good friendship. Wiz has incidentally shot a music video with R & B singer Cassie purpose.
5.) Hopes and Dreams
After two brisk songs Wiz sprinkled with this song again a calmer number. For my taste, but a little monotonous and not as interesting as the other songs.
6) Wake Up
A great anthem, in the Wiz explains that he, no longer want to wake up from his career, which is like a dream. He brings a wealth of vocal and done so again a peaceful atmosphere. The beat comes incidentally from the same producers as "Black and Yellow" - Stargate
7.) The Race
I immediately fell in love with this track at the first hearing. "The Race" is an ideal track for summer evenings, whether at the BBQ or in a relaxing evening finale. The flow is great! Unconditional out tip.
8.) Star of the Show (feat. Chevy Woods)
The second of three features. Chevy Woods is actually a label-mate from the Rostrum Records - family. For me the song is not a highlight, but I hear it I still like to.
9) No Sleep
Next, a very jazzy number, but a lot of fun. The chorus catchy character hangs long and overall is "No Sleep" simply a very entertaining number!
10.) Get Your Shit
That's right, this song starts with an acoustic guitar! The chorus in the background even come to Streicher. Nevertheless (or perhaps because of?) Is "Get Your Shit" in my eyes one of the strongest songs on the album! Wiz processed here a separation, because that is lyrically seen. The musical atmosphere that is created here is great.
11.) Top Floor
For me personally, this song does not say so on. Stylistically, it is similar to "Hopes and Dreams" and perhaps he therefore does not hit my taste very. One of the most peaceful songs.
12) Fly Solo
Grandiose! Perhaps the poppigste song "Rolling Papers", but also at the same time one of the highlights! The kick-off is somewhat reminiscent BoB which you do not expect. But as I said, this Wiz Khalifa-meets-BoB song is a real feel-good treat!
13) Rooftops (feat. Currency)
Now on the unusual but highly successful pop liner follows with "Rooftops" back a song in the typical style of Wiz Khalifa. No nonsense, raplastiger, ominous. Like it a lot. With currency - one of the best friends of Wiz - The third and final feature is now represented.
14) Cameras
A wonderful, slightly pensive finale. The chorus is, as so often again a single catchy and has high recognition value. Is simply fun!
Conclusion:
I had while listening to Wiz Khalifa's new album "Rolling Papers" a lot of fun and keep much of the plate. It shows how versatile the rapper from Pittsburgh may be, and that he must be able to pinpoint not only on his hardcore hip hop and his Crunk numbers. "Rolling Papers" is sure to attract a wide audience, since many different influences are recognizable. And maybe he creates yes then this country a breakthrough. Overall, a varied, entertaining CD that I just can recommend highly.
