The sound output is only 2.0 conventional stereo output via fiber toslink, so I am very disappointed to buy this model. I also note that the provided DC 5V 1A power chirps rather unpleasant shrill whistle.

I highly recommend taking this model if you have a sub RaspberryPi OpenELEC into a mediacenter 5.1
