The taste perfectly, double Cup Mode bit disappointing

We are Macchiato predominantly Latte in our household and cappuccino drinker and had been to a Nespresso Lattissima as capsule system after 2 years of operation, this machine has made new problems again, for example. Was the capsule no longer stuck right and it came out too little coffee, or the operation was aborted completely.

I have long thought about how much money I want to spend for a good fully automatic. Ultimately, I decided for the Barista T, since it was very important to me that two milk drinks can be produced in one operation. Also, I did not move during the brewing process, as it is necessary in some equipment and the recipe book against the Cafeo CI was also appealing the cup. Eventually I came to the research mean that you can not get for 400 EUR. The fully automatic and also the predecessor (Cafeo CI) have very good reviews and to take me convinced the money in hand.

After two weeks, I have made myself familiar with the machine ultimately. Meanwhile, all drinks are adjusted to the cup sizes on a personal profile and I have tried two kinds of coffee beans.

Handling:
I have found all the settings at once without operating instructions, only the information with the water hardness I had to look up. Once you can using a water filter to the water hardness that is no longer choose, but is automatically disappears in soft and the menu item. The water filter should not be used simply as, but are previously selected in the menu that one is used. You have to register him virtually. If you do not do the operation is certainly not restricted, but you get probably no evidence to change this later.
Nett I find the Slice function on machines. Relating a coffee and'd like a larger cup, you simply push the slider to the left or right, or pressed on the bar to the desired location. In mixed drinks, the mixing ratio between coffee and milk will be automatically maintained.

But what surprises me at this point: you can set up to 295ml milk over the Slice function, the menu is only 220ml maximum. This logic does not open up to me. But this is not always so in water and coffee do not, but when it was milk.

In addition, the adaptation of the exact amount of the cup each drink was pretty awkward. After the specified amount of coffee coincides always exactly the amount of milk foam as not. So once you have a cup of 300ml for a latte M. and provides a 100ml 200ml coffee and milk, then one obtains at best a 2/3 full glass, ie a maximum of 250ml. So you want to have the glass full you have to play around a bit. I had at the beginning then more settings chosen as 80ml and 120ml milk coffee, because I thought this is really the quantity of milk that is drawn, but in reality only 60 ml of milk are then used. That's not so bad, you just know.

Double Cup Mode
Because my focus was on the double-Cup mode, I had very high hopes here. Namely a drastic shortening of the preparation time. Unfortunately the is not like this. It takes about 3: 30min Macchiato for two large glasses latte. I have not tried it, but would argue that there is hardly a time disadvantage arises in the single-cup mode, most of the cup Jump. Thus, the only advantage of the double-Cup modes that you can save yourself a step and two drinks are hot and ready at the same time. I had secretly hoped for at least 30-40% faster coffee making.

Coffee consumption
Since I have no comparative figures, I can only rate this purely subjective point. I find the coffee consumption generally very high. After 60 covers are 625g beans away. Since I have a bit astonished because I still know from filter coffee as long as enough a packet with 500g powder. This point I rate neutral because I have no experience and I can not imagine that other machines are much more productive in the point. I think an espresso in normal strength lies, according to standard at 9g.

Atmosphere & Preparation
The highlight of the machine, in my view. I once tried the Illy beans with 100% Arabica (about 20 EUR / kg) and currently I use Lavazzo Crema Classico with 70% Arabica and 30% Robusta (13.99 EUR / kg). Both are high-quality coffee, with the Illy still one step better, purely on the quality. Coffee I drink basically not black and mostly I choose a mixed drink with milk froth. The machine succeed all mixed drinks properly, the taste is wonderful and can compete with any restaurant machine. Something strange is perhaps the appearance of cappuccinos, because we have here no white cap, but the coffee mixes easily with milk foam as first coffee, then milk foam is given (original recipe) into the cup. It has also not the typical 3cm thick dewy what first disappointed, but if you a little information, then has an original cappuccino actually no construction foam as cream, but a fine-pored but rather more fluid foam. For a Latte Macchiato on the other hand you have with sufficient amount of milk a nice thick foam layer (2-3cm) that floats on the milk or coffee layer. Thus, the machine complies with when it comes to foam and beverage preparation every criteria in my view. I have now also quite often at night give yourself an espresso or a normal Cafe Crema, because the coffee tastes so delicious, especially the taste of pure bean without milk. Overall, we now drink a lot more coffee than before.

Cleaning
Since I have the machine only two weeks, I have had so far run no greater cleaning program. But emptying the drip tray and the Kaffeepuks is uncomplicated and quick, you have to be somewhat careful when pulling because an otherwise sloshes against everything, but that is in the nature of things. The brewing unit should be cleaned a week by this simply pulls out of the machine and water running over it again. The process is straightforward and takes less than 5 minutes. After a week I had since hardly recognize contamination, it will nevertheless make every week. The Easy-Clean system is functioning properly, stuck hose just after the cup dispensing with milk in the plate, where the cups stand on it, press the button and everything will once flushed with steam.
The cleaning programs shy away from anything, because if you take as recommended all of the products you are about 100 EUR per year of cleaning agents:

- Water filter (optional but recommended)
- Cleaning stick for coffee shop
- Cleaning agent for milk system
- Descaler tablets (despite water filter)

Water filter should be replaced every 2 months, coffee and milk system system is also every 2 months rinsed with the cleaner and to be decalcified also all 2-3 months despite water filter, otherwise more often. I think everyone here has to know even how to deal with the issue. Solely the programs must be carried out, otherwise the applicable warranty coverage. In a review of available eg. Someone has the machine for a long time and has never used a water filter (which are ever saved about 60 EUR a year) while the machine works perfectly.

Conclusion
Taste, preparation and service are first class, I'm going to drink coffee every day animated by the machine. Just coffee without milk is sometimes just cooked in between very quickly. But I want to pull already a star because I am disappointed by the pace of double-cup mode and it had promised me more. Especially the annoying waiting time when you need 6 Cappuccino, because guests are there. I want to just also offer cappuccino, if I have such a machine. Chill, each machine from 600 EUR in Einzelcupmode as fast (slow) prepare these 6 Cappuccino. Moreover, I find the costs for cleaning products extremely inappropriate when this really so used as recommended in the user manual (only original products take etc.). More than EUR 100 per year just for detergent. For 100 EUR cleaners I brush for a year my whole house, maybe longer. But that will probably be similar to any other machine.
