The thing with the Parental Control

The Graef Master M9 food slicer has a smooth knife in "commercial quality" with a diameter of 17cm. The knife commands respect. It is (and remains) extremely sharp, heavy and solid. You want it to be dropped in no case during cleaning. You have to clean it but even occasionally, because small amounts of cheese or fat like to stay back at the edge of the actual knife edge. This effect is in my view more apparent than in simple serrated knives. The also available knife with teeth actually you do not need. Even older bread is cut very clean and simple.

Particularly positive is the very easily renewable scraper. For machines with fixed scraper this is often the component that breaks after many years and heralds the end of the otherwise nearly indestructible machine.

The blade produces a slight grinding noise on scraper. This is inevitable when the wiper is to fulfill its function.

The habituation to the hand operation on the slide takes a bit if you are used to a classical slicer with switch above the knife. Overall, the switch may have a slight advantage to use the slide.
They have one disadvantage in any case: If Parental Control Although the carriage is in front of the knife, but the knife can still be switched on and be touched in the field of cutting. Here helps only the removal of the plug from the socket.

The Graef Master M9 is a very solid piece of equipment for the household. The workmanship is very neat, but not perfect. The machine described here has slight imperfections in the anodizing, though not in the viewing area. The blade runs very slightly eccentric. This could also be constructive so desired.

The different adjustment options on the slide and for tilting the machine to use in everyday life is actually very rare.
Essential for everyday life, however, is that the engine never seems hard and stoically and silently performs its duties. The knife is also quickly cleaned.
In this respect, a machine that offers more than you need most and by solid-sized components on a very long service life gives us hope.
