Jim Carrey plays a traumatized by parental neglect man who wants nothing more than to human affection. He wants real friendship and is itself but even here in the way. Ultimately he buys friendship, only to realize that he never reaches so to the desired destination.
Overall, a grim story that still has the potential to get under your skin. Just so very different from known Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller movies.
Only the music in the film does not fit. Anyway, I feel that way. But that's a matter of taste. To me a more appropriate setting would have brought the fifth star, so there are only four.
