With "Phaedra" Tangerine Dream managed something where no one would have thought possible. For the first time we heard the so called "Moog Synthesizer" was used in 1973 for the album. The funny thing was that at that time knew hardly an artist, as one had to operate this instrument! The "Moog Synthesizer" was stocked with countless buttons, cables, functions and other things. And just Edgar Froese, Peter Baumann and Chris Franke (former band instrumentation) took it to heart, with this instrument to make music and record an album. And indeed, it was finally time: "Phaedra" was released in 1974 and beeintruckte musicians and critics around the world. Incidentally, "Phaedra" produced in the famous "Manor Studios". But in addition to the typical sound patterns and sequences that have been generated by the "Moog", there were also listen to other instruments such as a piano, a bass guitar, but also flutes, organs, etc. "Phaedra" however is an album, which you should listen to often. The first time you have to get used to the sound of that time only. The title "Phaedra" and "Movements of a Visionary" which you can hear here are, to be experienced as historically valuable pieces here all the fascination and variety of the "Moog synthesizer". Overall a great timeless masterpiece by Tangerine Dream.
