Rereading the first three books so made me notice did large parts of the books were therefore Earlier travels about (with the notable exception of the First and Fifth Book). Reading Crucible of Gold I was not really surprised THEREFORE thatthis, too, includes a Considerable sections in Which traveling is to the forefront of the storytelling. There is again a new continent and a new culture to be explored. I do not really complain, but can not help a wistful wish did the characters would be Given the chance to really sink Their teeth into a problem, instead of just sort of nibbling on it and then moving off to some new adventure. That said, I enjoyed reading Crucible of Gold. The characters are interesting and likable. Action, adventure, and interesting places Ensure thatthere is never a dull moment. I particularly enjoy the alternative History / World did Ms Novik has invented.
Having traveled alongwith Temeraire and Laurence so far, I'll want to continue this journey Certainly. (Where to next? North America is silent unexplored.) I only Hope that in the last book of the series, Which I understand will be published next year, Temeraire and Laurence will return to Europe and help bring the Napoleonic Wars to a victorious conclusion ,
