With its 565 g and the dimensions of 8.5 x 12.5 x 10.7 cm, the camera is small and light, yet fits comfortably in your hand and it can be thanks to the rubberized surface excellent grip. Since I have fairly large hands, I am not so enthusiastic about the trouser pocket models generally. I'd rather be able Zufassen properly.
Supplied with a lithium-ion battery, a USB charger, a Tagegurt, a lens cap, a tether and a clear, multilingual user manual are in addition to the camera, included. The battery is pre-charged, so I could get started for a inserting a SanDisk Extreme 32 GB Class 10 are identical.

Joy makes my 3-inch screen with its high resolution (921,000 pixels), which can rotate and swivel also so diverse, flexible shooting at awkward angles are possible. The experience encourages experimentation and is prima suited to scan close to the ground plants and animals!
The electronic viewfinder dissolves only with 201,000 pixels and is to control not bad if you want to take pictures in sunlight. Generally I use it, however, rare.

I'm a longtime fan of Nikon Scan and usually with a Nikon D5100, but other models had in his hand. Thus, I am therefore of the layout of the controls, just the Nikon system as a whole, largely used and had me quickly master found: the top is the best wheel with classic modes. The exposure can be - as you wish - either individually by hand, but of course also control automatically. The light sensitivity ranges from ISO 100-12800.
However, I must say that the buttons, the wheel and the controls at all not the quality and tactile quality exhibit like the Nikon D5100. That's quite a difference (However, explains that with the price somewhere by themselves.)

My combined experience with the P600

In the joy and enthusiasm for the gigantic zoom of course you can not lose sight of the image quality. A look at the data sheet shows that the backside illumination, 1 / 2.3 inch CMOS sensor with 16 million pixels comes along. In practice, the shots are really good: sharp, high-contrast and convincing in natural colors. The image stabilizer do a great job, which I notice especially when made out of hand and without tripod.
With sharpness and image quality I am completely satisfied, especially since I can pick up details really close.
Series images created with up to seven frames per second in full resolution. I have my cats photographed while playing, which I normally do not even come close sharply succeed if they do not keep still. I - and professionally conditioned - often photographing animals, a beautiful thing!
However, it is not possible to store the pictures taken in RAW format and afterwards lossless rework. I would have really wanted.
Another negative point: The camera is slow. Autofocus can really be an ordeal.
However, I think it's still pleasant and advantageous to have instead of a DSLR and interchangeable lenses now carry only a single device, and still be able to make good, sharp images. Faraway animals such as birds or just to be able to pick up people is great, and also the night shots made me like a whole really good.
Should it however happen quickly such as in action and sports shots or I want to do later intensive image editing, but there is no way to another Nikon around All in all, though remains air upwards. Nevertheless, this is a really good bridge camera or a supplement to DSLR!
