Due to the generally poor performance I wanted then already tick off the topic, but then I came across a very interesting discussion where Thinkpad users mSATA PATA spoke adapters and these also tested brisk. And the benchmarks of these adapters are significantly better. Throughout 90 MB / s reading and writing (the Transcend provides only 40 MB / s). In addition, 20-40 MB / s at 4K (the Transcend creates only 1-12 MB / s).
And now comes the best. The adapter costs just 25, - EUR and a matching mSATA SSD with 128 GB of Crucial is 60, - EUR. So 85, - EUR vs. 140, - EUR for the significantly slower Transcend. Since the decision is easy right?
But the matter of course, also has hooks. The adapter transmits probably no TRIM commands and so you have to disable TRIM, but said should be no problem if you choose a newer mSATA which has probably then integrated in the controller. And it may be that you only have to install it on a normal HDD operating system, then there disabled TRIM and then have to clone the SSD. But I think the effort is worthwhile and at the current Samsung and Crucial mSATAs should be I think TRIM included in the firmware of the SSD. Finally, it may also be that the adapter simply does not work in the notebook. The risk you have to expect and then use his return-law if necessary. Then really remains the Transcend.
Not every adapter is recommended:
There are very slow adapter in the range of 5 and 10, - EUR. The quickest adapter is probably the Delock 62495 / Addonics ADMS25IDE / Lycom ST-173-7. After my research, all of which are identical and have a Marvell chip 88SA8052. There are probably still the Sintech / Minerva ST663FD9, but supposedly but probably will not be quite so compatible.
