My great, new LED TV can do everything except decent music. This also comes as no surprise, because the TV is just 3 cm deep and one wonders quite rightly, where there's reasonable speakers should be installed. Additional problem: the TV does not have analog audio output more (only a digital-optical), so quickly connect time to a stereo system also does not go.
So much for the initial situation, so what do to auzumöbeln the sound simple, but high quality? An AV receiver with the necessary optical digital input I wanted to not set, because then standing around one thing more in WoZi and a complete surround system with 5 or 7 speakers, it should not be: that would be purely aufstelltechnisch in my TV corner impossible to implement.
Result: an active subwoofer with digital prepress and two satellites must be found. Well, the choice of exactly these products is not exactly huge. Almost inevitably you will 2.1 hang the Onkyo HTX-22HDX.
So I went through all Amazon Reviews, hit my very meaningful review in AreaDVD read (Just google) and then slammed shut.
I'm very satisfied. This is of course first because I have just received exactly what I was looking for. On the other hand, the set can score with a few surprising gimmicks. Keyword especially here: HDMI, more HDMI-CEC, ie all system components talk to each other and do what I want. Very simple, but also very rare. I try to explain it precisely once (with a little techno-babble is unavoidable).
My setup, everything from Amazon:
* BluRay player Samsung BD-D5500 *
directly connected via
* AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet *
With
* TV Samsung UE37D6500 *
in turn, with
* AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet *
via the HDMI Audio Return Channel with the HDMI output (!) of
* Onkyo HTX-22HDX 2.1 *
connected is.
Thanks to HDMI-CEC (at Samsung: Anynet +, Onkyo RIHD) the device via HDMI communicate with each other and accept eg commands from a single remote or logical chains of command..
In practice, the following happens:
I turn on the BluRay player - TV automatically switches to and adjusts itself automatically to the correct HDMI input - the subwoofer automatically turns on to and off the TV speakers. All with a single keystroke.
(Whose speakers are indeed shut down) If I want to adjust the volume with the TV remote control, then the subwoofer instead of the TV responds.
If I turn off the TV, the subwoofer automatically switches off with.
Importantly, the components as described with HDMI cables to HDMI standard v1.4 (aka high-speed HDMI cable) to connect. Otherwise, the communication is not working. In addition, HDMI 1.4 is needed because of the HDMI audio return channel from the TV. My urspünglicher plan to work with an optical Toslink cables would, technically even work, the communication device described above would be omitted, and I had to manually switch to the subwoofer always or controlled separately.
Last but not least: the sound. The system sounds very good and balanced for me and is so thoroughly recommended - this perception is of course subjective. So no long words: everyone has to decide for himself. I like it anyway.
Is the system audiophile? Actually I do not care. My Canton boxes to Akai amplifier 1985 are structured in a different room, so can (and will) I do not directly compare. The Onkyo set would also lose determined - I repeat: I do not care. I wanted to improve the sound of my TV, and this claim satisfies this system brilliantly, moreover with outstanding ease of use. What I want more so?
Thank you for reading and Euere patience!
PS: The subwoofer has an internal cooling fan on the rear panel! Barely audible, but still present. There will be people who disturbs the - so I wanted to mention it.
