Personally, I have wavered with my wife between Thermomix and Kitchen Aid back and forth until I heard about this device. And from this perspective I want to share my / our considerations here with you. Maybe it will help the one or the other. One thing first: Each of the three food processors has its place! Just because for us the Kenwood is the right device does not apply to you how. So if you are happy with your Kitchen Aid / your Thermomix and want to tell us why, then like to write a note / question.

## Who is this machine is suitable (in my opinion) NOT?
If you people with designer clothes irritate, you know anyone who spends a lot of money for a smartphone, in short: you is any luxury stranger, then a food processor - especially in the price range of a Kitchen Aid, Thermomix or Cooking Chef - definitely not for you , These are devices for a very long time. But they are expensive.

So if you really do not really cook can at most times a recipe 1: 1 nachkochst, then you should first clarify for you what you expect from a food processor. A Kitchen Aid is certainly the better design object and evaluates every kitchen visually. If your main focus is on the baking of cakes and pies, pizza and bread dough less, then reached a Kitchen Aid food processor or another without cooking function also.

And if you depend on a variety of recipe instructions that also tell you at what stage you have how many minutes pureeing, the Thermomix is the better choice. There in the world tens of thousands of recipe recipes, which are then partially also tried by an armada YouTuber front of the camera.

# Why this food processor?
I found a machine like the Thermomix has long been interested in the you purely throwing the ingredients and then cook everything ready-made. In particular, the idea quickly prepare fresh after work something tasty spoke to me. So we were sometimes together on a thermal Party.

My wife - a trained baker - wanted the other hand especially bread, cakes, pizza and yeast doughs produced. It has therefore for years a Kitchen Aid on the wishlist. Now the Thermomix fans will say that the Thermi can also knead dough. We have also heard and therefore looked at by the thermal Party a few dozen YouTube videos. In short, my wife was not convinced. This is in principle indeed actually clear. One machine with a kneading hook - just like the big machines in the bakery. And the other is actually a mixer whose blades can rotate also linksrum (the dull side). But this is not a substitute for proper kneading. One can argue, rightly, that there are many videos are on YouTube, where doughs are made successfully. I trust there anyway to the judgment of a trained baker (based on the party and the various videos).

All three devices - Kitchen Aid, Thermomix and Cooking Chef - stand on the shoulders of giants. In all several decades of experience and improvements have been made, the Kitchen Aid you see the experience but already on and the Thermomix also are in existence for decades. Kenwood was in 1950 one of the first producers of kitchen appliances. The "Kenwood Chef" is known worldwide. Later came a larger variant added with more capacity - the "Kenwood Major". If your stroking the cooking function of the Cooking Chef you have virtually a Major. Whoever concludes, to dispense with the cooking function saves about 250th

# Thermomix vs Cooking Chef - Pros & Cons
Let's start with the ecosystem to: Cookbook and Community. The cookbook of Lafer shows what goes like this. So if you discover the boss should be invited: a simple menu from the book put together and raise it runs by itself. But it is to my knowledge the only book in German especially for the Cooking Chef. On the Thermomix page there are more choices. For the Cooking Chef is easier to operate with normal recipes, so it does not necessarily need more books. Nevertheless, the Lafer-book is great!

That you can not say about the Kenwood Club in my opinion. There is still much work to be done. Vorwerk is here definitely continue as Kenwood. There is in my opinion not as hard nachzukochen a normal recipe on the Cooking Chef. Presumably, therefore, there is not such a community as to the Thermomix page. Kenwood seems to have noticed this, and has been the site of the club just retreaded. Nonetheless, the community is a real advantage for the Thermomix!

The build quality is certainly good for both, but the Kenwood makes the impression of uncompromising quality. The part weighs 15 kg! Almost everything is made of metal, for example, the complete housing is made of cast aluminum. Kenwood has reportedly claim that these devices typically "a lifetime" hold. Well, that time will tell. Even as the service is really. These horror stories about "water in the appliance, which has wrecked the board", which I have read in some review I take a great deal of skepticism note because I believe no moisture can penetrate through the cooking operation.

A couple of other points over the Thermomix were still important to me:
Firstly, I like my soups but did not like mashed like 'what to bite'. Therefore me and the cook-agitating element of the Cooking Chef has addressed immediately. We just made Penne Carbonara so yesterday and it was not damaged a pasta, not even when they did were already. When Thermomix is almost always in the pureed soup recipes at the end. Honestly, I've never seen no video, where this step is missing. Therefore, I can not say whether the result then would be appealing too - I'm not afraid. Because the ingredients are previously not separately geschnibbelt into slices (as it comes with the multiple chopper the Cooking Chef).

And here's a point it becomes clear that from both sides - is seen each either advantage or disadvantage - Thermis and Woodies: the washing up additional parts. It is true that a multiple chopper (Food Processor) must not be washed off when I schreddere the ingredients in the Thermomix. But the result is another! Will I achieve the same result with two devices -. Eg carrot soup with carrot slices on deposit - then I have the same dishes. Because if on the cutting board or in the food processor - somehow I have to cut the carrots into slices. Am I satisfied with the compromise of Thermis I save a single operation - the Schnibbeln the carrot - and the washing up. But I get a pureed soup without lining. Everyone needs to be assessed in itself. For me, the point of Kenwood goes. Because here the attachment is, for I have to buy an extra device at Thermomix. This then comes with extra plugs, extra motor and thus more space. That's the advantage of a food processor - Accessories!

# Accessories
And that brings us to our next topic: Accessories. The more demanding the amateur cook, the more he appreciates my view a blender, a multiple chopper and all stirring elements. The one who wants to cook dishes according to recipe with the Thermomix will probably interfere more at the footprint of the accessories. We have cleaned out the drawer on with all the "little helpers". An old mixer just flew out as a Food Processor, various accessories for the blender (but he did not - we soups Purée when then directly into the bowl - saves the decanting into the blender) and the hand mixer. This was plenty of room (and there was even free additional space) for the new accessory.

Basically, the Cooking Chef in addition to the connection for the stirring three more that are different from the speed of her. Two at the top of blender, juicer and food processor, one on the front for example, a meat grinder, the pasta machine or a dicer.

You can also use the accessories of Kenwood Major and much of the Kenwood Chef, which is a huge advantage because of this there is the ice machine to the juicer everything except an iron. Even pasta machines for all I know, including pasta penne exist. Some essays there is a special Cooking Chef variant. The reason I have not yet figured out - is probably related to the external dimensions.

## Multiple chopper
The paper shreds with the knife used chocolate as fast and strong that they become liquid again sometime! That's the advantage of 1500 watts ...
There are also 6 working wheels:
- 1 coarse cutting discs
- 1 fine cutting disc
- 1 rough friction
- 1 fine friction
- 1 rasping
- 1 Julienne Disc

## Blender / Mixer
The blender is made of glass, which is also suitable for hot dishes. The thing is surprisingly heavy, which gives an impression of quality and he is also just. For smoothies I throw the pure fruit. Core housing, which is mashed with. If something does not want to come down bag a supplied spatula used. The length is appropriately enough such that you can not get into Mixwerk.

## Mincer
Also this part seems to very high quality. It is completely made of metal - in contrast to the meat grinder of the Kitchen Aid. This has not only the background of a qualitative processing! In the production of minced the meat grinder must not be too hot. Therefore, you put him first in the refrigerator or the freezer. And this cold metal holds up better than plastic. The mincer is for me as I have said in particular for producing fresh Hack (eg. Lamb) are used. You can then determine the fat content itself and know what's inside. In addition, I have also been lying around a recipe for sausage meat. The turn is coming next. Because the appropriate attachment for sausage is included. For this purpose even a kebbe attachment.

## Attachment for cookies
Bought as a good resolution for the Christmas season - not tried.

## Gewürzmühle
To prepare spice mixes fresh replaces Gewürzmühle my mortar. The seeds are roasted briefly in a pan without oil and then ground. Even coffee can be ground. But I use them especially for salad dressings. The preparation in the spice mill is not to be compared with a shaker. Although one example. Just a little whipped cream needs (a few tablespoons) is produced in no time in the spice mill.

## Extra bowl
If you use your food processor frequently, then you will sooner or later in a second bowl. The normal Kenwood Major bowls to fit. The stainless steel bowl of Major is 20 cheaper than the Cooking Chef, but has not the induction core for cooking. This means that for me only the Cooking Chef bowl in question.

# Teigarbeiten
The mixing, stirring, kneading, and Aufschlageaufgaben does the machine without problems. Just as expected. Even a single protein they can pitch. And up to 16 for three dough rye bread kneading at a time? No Problem. Yeast dough is kneaded already finished after a short time - the way we put the heat to 40 ° C, then the dough is already on the move.

# Conclusion: Thermomix + Kitchen Aid = Cooking Chef
A good feeling of having made the right decision. Although I usually give nothing on advertising slogans - "CREATE MORE", the slogan of Kenwood hits the mark. It just makes more back in the kitchen, because a good support the machine. I used a wide berth risotto, hollandaise (?), Etc. made zabaglione. Too expensive was the preparation. It was the same with pizza dough. Now that everything is drawn into our everyday lives. To me it is not difficult, a recipe mentally adapt to the Cooking Chef. It develops quickly a sense of where the machine can support well.

We do not want to miss the machine.
