Why was it the X30:
-In My opinion, the significantly improved ergonomics when compared to Sony RX100 was decisive. Clearly, larger sensor, or not, but a camera should radiate character, they are considered so for some time in hand. The Sony was technically great, but just too small, too smooth, too cool.
-The Electronic viewfinder of the X30 is just great. Virtually no delay and true colors. Man photographing much more aware.
-The Manual zoom. Hold Thank Fujifilm for this courage it. At this sensitivity no zoom button is ran.
-Perfect Combination of size, zoom, battery life and image quality.
The camera itself:
Very valuable and processed in weight also good. It has a good grip and can take pictures quietly through the right size. All buttons and the menu react fast. By meaningful control buttons you have mastered much better photographic situations.
Image quality:
As some already enter into great detail here on the technical details, I consider myself short.
For the Fuji has been criticized that the sensor is not grown compared to X20, Fuji delivers a very good image quality here. You simply tell the difference of xtrans sensor compared to other cameras. Great colors, and it shows!
The negative points in my eyes:
-The Video mode. Either I have not yet figured out, but I personally have too little settings. Sure, there are a video menu. But you can start the video mode only by pressing the red button. A function, so to speak, to be in "Video readiness", and start by pressing the trigger does not exist. Clear, who wants to film themselves does not buy Compact. But it would still be nice.
-The Instructions: The enclosed CD would be able to save. I know indeed good with cameras. But some one wants to know more then but. As the online guidance is recommended (downloadable) at Fuji.
Overall, the negative points are, however not worth a star deduction. Therefore, there is the full 5 from me.
Conclusion:
In my view, a very nice camera with great amenities. Anyone who is uncertain, best to go in the market and look completely clueless and compare with other compact cameras. I'm happy to be landed at Fujifilm.
SUPPLEMENTARY 30.12.2014:
For those who are still looking for a matching bag: In my opinion, the Lowepro Dashpoint 20 is too small. With UV filter, it is tight, with additional lens cover fits this bag NOT. I have found a good bag for me: Case Logic TBC 404. With lens cover or lens hood this fits perfectly. Even without accessories shaking the camera around not too much and still has support. The padding is good. Who the handle is not important, is the TBC304 its predecessor considerably cheaper.
