After my experience with the delivered in September "Dark Side Of The Moon" immersion box is no longer surprised, unfortunately, that this time all the discs loosely in the box flew about and are significantly scratched part. The holder of the discs in the box is basically already thought through; also hold the pieces of silver, if they are pressed accordingly. Only you would be aware that they will be solved during transport out of the holder. It would be better therefore been, it easy to pack in protectors and example. To lay on top, because the unprotected insert the Blu-ray in a Cardboard Sleeve protects the surfaces of the disc is not really!
I want to leave no detail at this point about the value for money of the box, after all I already knew since its announcement that I would have basically only used for Disc 2 and the Blu-ray. The previously unreleased audio tracks on Disc 2 but convince me sound technically and very especially in front of their historical background. Without located exclusively on the Blu-ray Disc 4.0 quad mix with different track lengths, different melody lines, guitar solos, new and altered Background arrangements and alternative synth tracks I would have loved to just the Experience Edition and on the real audiophile "Analogue Productions" buy label appearing SACD of "Wish You Were Here", is but also in the other Immersion Box additions (like marbles and scarf) to unnecessary frills.
That there is very different, the 40th Anniversary Box Set proves Jethro Tull of "Aqualung": Valuable box, hard cover book, ingenious arrangement of the discs in gatefold cover, high quality Blu-ray Disc with all stereo, Quadraphonic-, surround versions and bonus tracks in Lossless format and as a blockbuster that also audiophile 180 gram vinyl. The crowning glory is the 5.1 surround mix by Steven Wilson, who just as well I like how his genius Surround mixes eg. For Porcupine Tree and King Crimson. He's just a gifted musician, and so it would have been very interested in what he had taken out of "Wish You Were Here" or other timeless Floyd works ...
Addendum:
After I received yesterday a further (second) WYWH Immersion Box of Amazon.com, the on top lying Blu-ray was once the way to my new Cambridge Azur 751BD. Unfortunately, confirmed my fears - it has the 5.1 surround track the exact same error. After my phone conversation today with Amazon.com was agreed that I would return both copies of the immersion box. The very friendly Amazon customer service informed me upstairs talk also about the fact that the box will temporarily taken out of the product range.
Today (10:11.) Now regrets EMI Music Germany that I have purchased a defective product out of her house and asks me to send in the defective Blu-ray. The friendly email ends with the following announcement: "Once we have is a perfect version available, we will immediately send a copy of it."
In light of these recent developments, I reserve a copy of the box and look forward to the timely possible replacement.
