This is not just a NAS

I am a follower of the brand Synology for several years and I replaced my 1512+ to a standard model rack after over 2 years of loyal service. I could sell to an individual there are a few weeks at a great price to me, I told you this because it's the same principle as for certain Apple devices: These are products that are aging very slowly and my 1512 + is still fully functional both in terms of wear as technological obsolescence.
Synology is very active in terms of updates to add features or correct security holes when published (for those who have heard of Heartbleed that touched not only all equipment Synology they released the patch in 48h).
1512+ mean: Model 15 discs, series 2012 Premium (+).
- 15 locations? Yet we see only 5 discs location on the picture! This is because it accepts 2 expansion bays 5 disks each.
- From one year to another the differences will only hardware and is rarely transcendent for a conventional user. Synology is sustainable, especially a model +
- Take a model + it means that you have all the features of the DSM operating system, present and future (via updates, within the limits of the hardware compatibility).

This is more than a NAS is an affordable media server to the general public, it can post server Home Cinema, for advanced users it can host websites, to VPN server, SAN and many others things. There Synology mobile app to read music, videos, photos, files with just a smartphone.
The space is minimal and this model can not be wrong applications / services simultaneously. If you manage to reach its limit, you can always open and add-compatible RAM.
