This original Apple cable adapter works

Equal first, a star deduction is available here only because of the outrageous (Apple) price. With significantly lower price I would have awarded 5 stars.
But that also means that we have here is a genuine Apple product, so no China-copy.

Like many other people also, I made the experience that cheap adapter only support current charge.
I needed an adapter for my Jaguar XK Bj. 2009, this works! For me, however, the battery will not charge. But this seems to be a problem in many cars. The important thing is that the audio transmission work, and you can also SPOTIFY so listen in the car !!!

So expensive product, but supports knotless send the sound from iPhone to my car.
