I tested had:
- Motorola G2 (nice touch, good workmanship, HSDPA on two SIM slots, battery: Well, sometimes jerky with multiple open apps, poor voice quality)
- Alcatel One Touch Idol X + (looks nice, good workmanship, no SD card, OS very choppy)
- Wiko Ridge 4G (not a nice feel, either SD card or Dual Sim, LTE will be able ... to two tickets o2 and D1 but only 2g in the house where I usually had LTE)
- Acer Liquid Jade S (Juhu: LTE flawlessly on both SIMs ... but sooo bad workmanship, volume keys rattle, battery is quickly uncomfortably warm, either SD card or Dual Sim)
- Samsung S5 mini duo (not running smoothly, HSDPA only on a SIM card, SIM 2 EDGE only)
and just as the last device the China smartphone THL 5000:
The word China smartphone is anyway a very relative term, it's not like that Apple, Samsung, HTC and co produce in Europe or USA ;-)
Height and weight:
The THL 5000 is once larger and heavier than the other. But when you consider that this is a 5000 Mha battery is installed, I am pleased that there is still good in the hand and is not too big. But we are just: we want a big battery and the thinnest possible casing, then get angry when the thin aluminum casing bend as soon as we sit on us ;-)
Haptics and processing:
I personally find surprisingly good, definitely better than the Acer Liquid Jade S. It shakes and rattles nothing, everything fitted well and firmly, to see the columns. But that is highly dependent on the personal feeling.
Other Big pluses:
- Gorilla Glass
- Processor and RAM
- Display (Full HD and very good color)
- Very good reception (in a region where I with my iPhone6 had no power in the O2 network, I now average 2 bar)
- Both SIM support HSDPA
- Good voice quality
- SD Kartenlot
- The price
Sim-card control:
going very well, both Sims are accessible, I can choose which data connection I want to use, I can adjust, phoning from which Sim. Very intuitively controlled.
Camera:
well, possibly being bone of contention. But for me it is clear: if you want to photograph, take a camera. Ranging from the completely to snapping, Instagram etc.. I find them not much worse than the supposedly "best camera currently" the iPhone 6
Battery:
I got the unit on Friday and charged. After installed, the phone, tested and played, how it makes up with new devices. The next charge Sunday evening was due. I use the smart phone business to make calls, have constantly push email, Bluetooth and Wifi enabled. Now is Tuesday and the battery is at 48%. My iPhone 6 held about one day.
Android:
Installs is almost a pure stock Android 4.4.2 ROM. Only the icons have been changed slightly. An update to 4.4.4 or even 5 it will not give my opinion, but good enough for me. Unfortunately missing in the settings nor the option to encrypt the phone ... but as I find a replacement yet determined.
Rooting:
is also very easy. THL recommends a special root tool for Windows. [...] After two minutes, the root access is then decorated and all access rights can be regulated with xPrivacy example in the blog.
I am very pleased with the THL 5000, up to LTE it meets all my requirements, with HSDPA but I can live well. For slightly more than 200 EUR I got a very good and powerful smartphone. Would take THL now draufstehen Samsung that would fit on the processing, however, the price would be more than EUR 500.
