So I switched the station with the previous one. And I did some tests ...
And here is the big-big disappointment.
I checked the performance of two hard disks mounted in one Thunderbolt, the other USB3. The results are clear: this station has lower rates than the previous station!
The USB3 does not lose too much speed I measured roughly 4% loss.
The Thunderbolt is totally against by Strawberry (IT technical term) with a loss of 26%.
These losses are both in writing than in reading.
I tried everything:
- The two Thunderbolt ports on my Mac: same results,
- By unplugging the HDMI display, which inevitably consumes little bandwidth: the same results (surprisingly matter),
- Using an Apple cable and not the Belkin cable: same results.
So yes the Mac I use is a 1 and not a Thunderbolt Thunderbolt 2, probably the problem is there.
In any case it is good to know if his machine is Thunderbolt 1 that station has no interest, at least if it's performance you're looking for!
