I did not think that the graphics will make a big leap forward. And so it is done, because visually Modern Warfare 2 is almost identical to Call Of Duty 4. Isolated small effects here and there and some small details fall to just bean counters. But may be not matter: The predecessor already looked frighteningly realistic and is today still one of the best graphical games!
The single player campaign is felt 10 times more action-packed, dramatic and story-wise gripping than its predecessor. But above all, the driving scenes that are extremely spiked number of weapons, the more varied settings and more interaction of the player care (slow-motion advances in space, stealth kills, abseiling, climbing, driving vehicles and much more.). Everything is intense, you feel more into it put into what is happening. There is time not only "smaller urban warfare", but also correct, as in the great war WWII CODs: The issues on bombed the White House and in the streets of Arcadia are very reminiscent of the older branch of the series. Atmospheric is all a grenade! Infinity Ward brings us back unforgettable moments: I'm just saying EMP in the USA! Just crazy how suddenly drop all helicopters from the sky ... madness!
In addition, the game is this time even on Veteran Difficulty feasible and fair: The infinite enemy respawns are now history! After a certain number of enemies your team advances automatically. You are no longer the "pioneer" in the fighting. That's a huge plus. An even greater is the bombastic epic Soundtrack: Hans Zimmer makes sure that your speakers bring a true orchestral fireworks in your living room as you have never experienced before in a videogame. The handwriting of the artist can be seen very strong in some US-levels: Some pieces are reminiscent of "The Dark Knight". Harry Gregson-Williams has to admit defeat to the German champions! I love the soundtrack!
One criticism which no one is actually, would be the following: The wow factor is no longer as great as in the predecessor despite the many innovations. The more subtle emissions reach all not the quality and drama of the Chernobyl mission of the fourth part. Also, it seems so, as Infinity Ward would have been a little too much rested on the laurels of the predecessor, as many scenes from MW2 remember striking on Call Of Duty 4. For example, the first mission in Afghanistan, which, incidentally, seems totally unnecessary to me First, this mission is only there to tune into the action and experience the control, and secondly, it is ridiculously short. The mission in Afghanistan seems like baseless Geballer with a healthy dose of "Hurrah, America". The real story begins in the second mission.
To airport Level: Like many other reviewers I also find that the average fully justified in the German version and makes sense. I do not shoot at innocent civilians! In addition, the interface makes everything more believable because you take part as an American undercover agent with Makarov's henchmen. Why should this also kill civilians for no reason? The press I can not agree: This scene shows very well how terrible is the terrorism and to a truth in mind.
Multiplayer: This time, you can ascend to Level 70. That's the first thing that has pleased me: D title, emblems and call signs invite you to personalize its own. The maps are a bit larger, which may have advantages and disadvantages, but personally I liked the card very well so far! There are many more weapons, more rewards and settings: All in all, the best multiplayer mode of a shooter at all!
Conclusion: I can only kneel before this milestone. Modern Warfare 2 retains all the virtues of its predecessor, adding a meaningful innovations and sets atmospheric neat one better. Infinity Ward be praised! The best shooter in the world!
