Technology:
In Mordor shadow hangs it without end and pop-ups are the daily bread. Sprints are a few seconds through the game world, overtaken you. Already very fast, the "foresight" and is suddenly in textures Allerlei Wooden planks are then seconds represented as monochrome rectangles, the grass disappears and orcs run only scantily dressed around until the armor is finally loaded. Then you can ever look for several seconds at the emergence of textures. We're not talking about 3 or 4 seconds (which would indeed already bad). To reload a small wooden tower, the game needed depending on the workload up to 20 seconds.
Even worse is the loading time when you call the map or the menu. If one wants to set a new destination on the map, invites selbige only once for a few seconds. If you have then selected destination and leaves the card, the game invites one more time twice as long. So certainly pass 10 seconds for the most basic operations. Even calling the skill trees, or quest information lasts forever. At some point you run then rather at random through the area than to look in the map. That's me really never come across and we are talking about a AAA title in 2014th
All this is inexcusable. Sure, there is a release date, there is a lack of skilled workers for the 360 port, etc. But that a publisher gets through with such a snot and next year must submit an unfinished product on the market is a huge mess.
Story / presentation:
The Story of Mordor shadow is conspicuously thin. Right at the beginning the protagonist is connected to a spirit, losing his wife and child. Henceforth, he would break the curse that binds him to the spirit and to take revenge for the murder of his family. The main story has absolutely no other draft and all is told in 10 to 20 hours. There come a few characters before, who knows an HDR fan already, but now evaluates yes no story on (BUT: I know it's just people who a going when suddenly Gollum appears I do not understand why Probably.? I therefore also in movies like Avengers from the shake of the head no longer out and feel like the only grouch my generation).
The humor oozing places repeatedly, it seems to me extremely flat or even puerile. Certain figures (Ratbag) occur constantly in the same "comic" situations and was able to elicit from me not tired smile. Somehow this humor also does not match the otherwise gloomy look, yes, he contradicts it often. A much blacker humor would have been better to face the game.
The presentation is standard fare. Much Krach Bumm, epic music, brutal finisher, it is simply slaughtered much. The course looks cool and serve well a wide audience. Mir is all but too dull and I had several times seriously ask why my character performs a complicated, longer-second finisher in which an Orc several limbs are separated in Slo-Mo, instead of simply ramming the dagger in the skull - finally are countless other enemies around me and beat me every now and then during this rather handsome ends finisher also like.
Well ... If you like it.
Gameplay:
Mordor shadow united basically the combat system of Batman with the course system of AC. Both components are working mostly very good. Only individual design decisions bother me (the finisher mentioned that last long or too impractical easy climbing). What bothers me most is the fact that the gameplay almost automatic. In the Batman series you have to constantly be on your toes and press the lock button at the right moment. In Mordor shadow that is almost never necessary. Man hacks through the crowds and when you see light up a button, press and something escapes the shock in most cases even if you hit Y takes only A. Very beginner-friendly is the first non zwa because the combat system has relatively many ways. So I found the fighting in the first half hour as too heavy and often departed this life. After about an hour I can then hopeless but unterlevelt even with the most severe opponents take. So went for me the game after 3 or 4 hours then completely flutes.
The core of the game is to be the Nemesis system. A truly grandiose idea. If you cut down by an opponent, this rises in the hierarchy of orcs and is now on Captain. At the same time increases its power level and if one does not meet in time certain quests, the Captain will gradually stronger.
Short term: I was captivated by this system. I have tried to systematically turn the strongest resistance thing and to prevent their level up side quests. At some point my whole however become stupid. I have an hour time 3 or 4 orcs killed new captain arrived just a short time later with a weaker power level into play. Motivation inferior opponent was off then zero.
Even climbing is way too easy. Man holding down A and running in one direction. The rest is the figure automatically. That looks just bomb out, no question. As my character jumps in Salti through the area, climbing in the most unlikely slopes along and what I know. But makes me fun? Ne, not really. If a single push of a button performs equal to 10 animations and I can look for a few seconds in how my character stylish hops around and kill orcs, simply passes me the mood for games.
Conclusion:
The technical shortcomings alone make shadows of Mordor already one of the worst games that have appeared in recent years for the 360.
The gameplay and the poser-like storytelling (it sees itself as a "grown up" and "bleak") but then destroy the rest of the atmosphere. I enjoyed it actually made one or two hours of fun, that is, as I've learned the combat system and thought the story would still crying rent wrap. But when I realized that the game at some point spielierisch and narrative stagnates and I only have to fulfill quests in order to finally see the end credits, the games became the purest agony (I can games just do not unfinished put in the closet) ,
I really liked not an aspect of this game, particularly well. I think it is technically and playfully messed Lau. "Cool" Finisher and complex motion sequences that are actually but triggered by a single input, should probably somehow give rise to the feeling that one is a pretty cool guy and a fantastic player. People in those times like Batman a "Wow" entwicht should at least be so happy. Not me.
