The workmanship is typical Logitech to complain nich, where you often read here that they still do not get the wear of the click switch. The materials are, in my opinion, even better than the MX Revolution. So is the trim around the tray for the thumb is no longer made of plastic, but now made of a metal, which acts much higher quality. Also works well is to use a replaceable battery, not permanently installed as its predecessor, which I find super the -schon often bemerkte- charging function via micro-USB cable, because you can continue to use the mouse while charging.
Return the mouse Now for the shortcomings that have led me ...
Compared to the MX Revolution, the form was changed. The mouse is now slightly higher, and the arrangement or number of keys has been changed. Furthermore, the ergonomics was changed so that the mouse is different in his hand. Keep you comfortable without using the hand hanging in the air resulting in the long run to cramps, they must now be much further touched the rear. It would not be so bad if this, however, the keys would still operate. I can therefore no longer reach the thumb button "forward" without having to move your hand from the mouse.
One can take in hand the mouse to try different, so all keys can be reached, but my wrist hangs in the air as well as the ergonomic shape of the mouse runs into nothingness. One nevertheless tries to press the mouse button in a relaxed hand position in the back button is pressed in any case. This is because the upper Dauementasten slightly beveled, much higher and no longer stored completely side are like its predecessor. As the mouse is kept ergonomically, the back button is in the way when you want to press the forward button.
By geschwungenere shape of the mouse they can no longer take reasonable in the hand and operate fully simultaneously. When the mouse so wanted to take in hand, as the design provides for one would have to break his hand in the middle or bend them at the point a few degrees outwards. Taking the mouse in your hand, with your thumb resting ergonomically, are index, middle and ring finger wrong (diagonally on the keys), take the mouse in your hand, that the fingers are right, then the dump pointless for the thumb because the thumb does not rest ... Does the mouse by the greater momentum now stylish from acts or ergonomic? Or should thus be concealed the greater height, which had to be taken by the other battery, and the micro-USB connector in buying presumably? The new form of the destroyed, for me, the ergonomics perferkte MX Revolution and it leaves only 5 minutes of work a sense of unavailability ... seeeeehr incomprehensible why Logitech deteriorates so great ergonomics of its predecessor as follows.
Also the mouse wheel is-although one could assume would weiterentwickelt- bad as my old MX Revolution. So its predecessor, it was possible the mouse wheel, depending on the speed of rotation, rasterized or rotate freely to use, in the Performance MX, it can be changed only by an extra switch. This button is at the same position as the assignable Search button in the MX Revolution, but since the left and right mouse buttons are a bit higher than the MX Revolution is running with me on a regular basis if you move the mouse wheel, a left or right click. The wheel itself can be simple click, but left-right scrolling function has no tactile feedback.
Compared to the MX Revolution, the practical thumbwheel, which has been "replaced" by 2 keys missing.
However, have one button on the lower thumb rest, more ways are gone with the thumb because of this, through the placement. So the Performance MX missing compared to the previous 2 keys and the two "spare" buttons are bad to use.
Also, the Unifying receiver, which is so highly touted by Logitech is not better than the previous technology. Once I copy data in Wi-Fi, the mouse becomes unusable, here Logitech would have done well to provide the pluggable cable not only to load ... The battery life has also been verschlimmbessert for interchangeable battery by firmly integrated by the change. So I found the battery life in the MX Revolution already very low with a maximum of one week, with little use. However, the battery life of this mouse provides this again and lets a maximum of 3 days, "Wireless" to -use. After all, you have to say, you can also use the mouse during charging - where I also here the pure use of wired, offered by the Micro-USB connector, see as a must-have.
Thus, the mouse has indeed (the same) -When good (n) approaches but also verschlimmbessert some details to its predecessor wurden- the immaturity can outweigh the disadvantages. I used to be a fan of Logitech, but already were with the in my opinion best ergonomic mouse MX Revolution on the wane - Keyword cheap click switch. It is incomprehensible to me how you can implement such a cheap click switch at a 80 expensive mouse, the strangely very often, just say goodbye to guarantee expiration date.
The flaws make the mouse unusable, which I think is a shame as my predecessor did so much to those to be adopted by clicking switches they made also unusable. So I have to unfortunately go in search for a mouse of another manufacturer ...
