But first:
positive: Actually quite good workmanship, elaborate well-functioning system focus and a top customer of Two Brothers (match LedLenser products)
Negative: As has already been mentioned here: ill-conceived concept of power, after 30min is up to 200 lumens maybe 80 wenns comes up nothing more. In addition, no regulation and made in China.
OK in detail:
4 AAA cells, how to come to such an idea, if you have a modern high power LED at maximum power, at least 3.6W, wants to operate. Clear one saves resistances, the internal resistance of the batteries it will have been rules (hence the operation with high-current batteries must be treated with caution). Only times 2 AA cells have a significantly higher capacity than 4 AAA (but need additional turn electronics).
After the first time you turn the lamp is really extremely bright exhausted for their size, but after a few minutes after the leaves Lichtleisung, after about 30 minutes of continuous operation at 100% mode, the batteries, the light output can then but much to be desired. For professional use is not recommended. When processing now I could not find much negative, although the lamps (unfortunately) are manufactured in China.
Totaly have to say at LedLenser ATTENTION with information at runtime and battery type. Everything where high power and AAA can come together not come out really useful. So who wants to buy a LedLenser: Stay away from the small models.
The P14 or P17 are really useful lamps. When P14 4AA cells are used which already promises the order of hours of light a "heavy", robust and perennial lamp has one with the P17 with 3 mono cells. (The P17 is in my possession, and after about 10 hours operation, no noticeable drop in light output. And at 3 mono cells is regulated or not does not matter). If you just need a lamp fürn fuse box etc should be perhaps the P5 -> 1xAA or better the new M5, once AA but controlled and battery-compatible view.
In terms of price, you can in Led Lenser products not expose. Especially here a really good customer service is on offer (My P17 hit me once fallen from a great height, of course, on a stone - jumped> reflector lens -> e-mail to LL two days later I received a package with spare parts -> if you look on the website, the explosion animation of the installation is then also easy, cost = 0)
So my conclusion fingers away from the P7, who looks for a small, light, robust and perennial bulb should look for other manufacturers who seek a small lamp for the domestic emergency -> P5 or better M5. Who severe persistent and robust lamp for the tougher application seeks -> P17
