Benefits:
Now that I've looked at the alternatives to MP3 Maker (Audio Expert and Media Monkey) more closely, I must say there are missing some key features that are supported in MP3 Maker, insofar a transition should be carefully considered:
- Automatic monitoring of folder structure: This ensures that the music library is automatically synchronized with the content of files on the hard disk. I wonder what else? What a sense it should result if folders or files are displayed in the Music Management, which no longer exist on the FP and new files are missing, because no reconciliation was made?
- File operations: MP3 Maker provides an easy and convenient way to copy files via the context menu and move. (This is obvious, but the function seems really only MP3 Maker to know)
- Drag & Drop: Move files from other applications (eg iTunes) in the folder structure via Drag & Drop
Conclusion: Comparing iTunes, MP3 Maker Audio Expert and MediaMonkey, you realize that you need actual all 4 programs to sort out larger music library, and to keep the music library up to date. All programs have over the comparative advantages and disadvantages of solutions. One naturally wants a program that contains all features but it does not seem to give. Even if one now uses all the programs you need still further FreeCommander for convenient file operations.
I summarize the significant advantage of programs I tested once
- MP3 MAKER: good file management, folder watching
- Audio Expert: speed, song text search, search album art, playlist management
- MediaMonkey: speed, stability, playlists, convenient and quick search of titles
- ITunes: access to the shop, playlist management acceptable to drag and drop to external programs, MP3 conversion, reliable import and tagging CDs
- FreeComander: Of all the programs mentioned here that really only viable tool for file management
