The graphic novel is an adaptation of the book, not the series! If you have only seen the series, a few little things are therefore different and some characters therefore look quite different than one would perhaps expect. For people familiar with the book and series, we can say that the graphic novel is based in Verlgeich to series closer to the book. Especially in the character design is a very positive thing. Characters like Robert Baretheon act really much better. In Making of mentions that George RR Martin himself was involved in consulting for character design and he has geutachtet each of the character designs, so that the characters were designed according to his ideas. However, I can associate myself with the previous speaker that the woman style is very uniform and easily sexualized. Through lack of wrinkles o. Ä. Therefore you character as Sansa and Catelyn Stark once quite confused.
Since many dialogues were taken from the book in a reduced form, you find yourself as a connoisseur of the book recalls it directly, which is great. The drawings and colorations are really great, so it's very nice visualized from the book to see his favorite scenes. Especially the recaps were not shown in the series, so you get to see this in the graphic novel for the first time. Of course, the graphic novel is not as detailed as the book that can not afford the medium also. However, the reduction in my opinion is all very well chosen, so that the graphic novel on the one hand works very well on its own and one the other hand, missed almost nothing, when read as a complement to the book.
The volume is in bound form completely in white. Only Title Author and band are printed embossed and glossy, which looks very classy. The pictured here cover and back are a paper envelope, also here the design is very nice.
This edition has a preface by George RR Martin, in which he explains his profound relationship with comics, as well as a Making of the editor, the artist and the colorists. The Making Of is really very interesting and offers a beautiful insight into how the production of such a graphic novel work and how much effort is involved.
After enjoying this volume I am looking forward to the other and also hope that the other books will also be adapted.
