I use my DSLR mainly for films and because increased battery life is simply essential. The battery grip is serving wonderful and the two supplied batteries last me almost as long as the original Canon - top!

Very pleasant side effect is the improved handling, because by the handle is the camera a lot more comfortable in the hand. The edgewise-timer is also great. I highly recommend the grip!
