The reviewer has for decades Braun travel alarm clock in his travel toiletry bag - a copy of BNC008 infected since 2012 at the "big" toilet bag. In small, weight and space optimized Kulturbeutel however infected another, who distribute the "world's best travel alarm clock", the Japanese since 2007.
Unfortunately must be supposed that the function (eg, good legibility of the alarm clock time) this Braun travel alarm clock is here only in second place after the first-class design, the legendary motto in (product) design and architecture is still really "form follows function" !
Here is the summary of the Counting Clock Features:
The positives:
+ First-class and award-winning and simple design ("Red Dot Design Award Winner 2012"),
+ Very compact and was safer (!) Travel radio alarm clock,
+ The time is at night (after tapping of "light") awarded by the white backlight and anti-glare read
+ Can be used worldwide (behind the battery cover, the slide switch by the atomic time signal can be selected depending on the continent / country: AUS / UK / US / DE / JP)
+ Operation is foolproof: there are only three external switches. A broad combination switch on the top turns on alarm and lighting,
+ Snooze function is triggered by pressing down the greater part of the switch on top, green inner switch ("ALARM ON / OFF") switches off alarm,
+ There is only the slide switch for "time" - and "Alarm" setting on the left side and a "+" / "-" - including rocker. Time usually arises by radio stations automatically,
+ 12- or 24-hour mode adjustable
+ The clock is also available in white and neutral gray color (in the gray version, the display is not inverted, so even during the day easier to read).
The Neutral:
o the slide switch "time" / "alarm" is a little on the small side and the neutral position between them is set a little tricky,
o the travel alarm clock is 35 euros (RRP) relatively high-priced,
o smooth windshield is susceptible to scratching and a travel clock unfortunately without protection,
o there is a travel case, but only as an accessory for 6.50 euros (RRP).
The negatives:
- The visibility of the clock during the day (especially from some distance) is flawed.
The thickness with height and length of 5.7 cm square and 1.9 cm Funkwecker is extremely stylistic and reduced designed (black finish with shiny Plexiglas front) and is powered by one AAA battery. But, the stylish display with inverted digits (white numerals on a black background) is daytime barely read - certainly not when the alarm clock from the window opposite the head of the bed is and you want to see the foot of the display. Therefore suitable for travel, but not for the bedroom at home.
At night, when the wide and easy-to-find "light" key is pressed on the top of the alarm clock, the display is exemplary, brightly glowing white numbers let the clock and alarm easily read.
Who can do without radio exact time, is better served for a lightweight, compact travel clock with the Japanese - the "World's Best Travel Clock" (Casio Collection Alarm Clock Digital quartz PQ 10-1ER) is another and about half the price - and for years Delivery program great outdoor outfitter.
