Processing: The mouse makes at first sight a top solid state. Nothing creaks or rattles and the keys have a pleasant pressure point low. This is now even with other well known brands not always the case, as I found out quickly. Therefore my not actually planned rebranding to Roccat ...
Software: The software leaves nothing to be desired. From the DPI number, via the scrolling speed down to the color of the illuminated logo on the "tail" of the mouse, everything can be set so ziehmlich. Even statistics about which button was pressed as often, provides the software. Useless, but quite funny to watch. A driver CD is not in. The software needs to be loaded directly from the network and includes almost 18 MB. This should pose less of a problem these days but well. On The Contrary. The homepage Roccat is clear and clearly structured so that you can find everything immediately. Probably you will find the driver in this way even quicker than you after 1-2 years if necessary first have to dig out a driver CD from a drawer somewhere.
The big BUT: Then why do I give the mouse in spite of good workmanship and comprehensive software only 3 stars may now certain of one or other issues. Very easily. The mouse has a decisive unfortunately (for me) disadvantage. The "lift-off distance" mouse is just under 4 - 5 mm unfortunately insanely high even for an optical mouse. In practice, it was unfortunately hardly possible for me to put the mouse, without the cursor while on the screen 1 - 2 centimeters is wobbled back and forth. Certainly, one could also get used to it here, by raising the mouse just higher, but even my above-mentioned 10 year old Logitech mouse was 1 - 2 mm lift-off distance from. For a mouse this price range therefore unfortunately an absolute "No Go".
Actually, I would now say at this point make a recommendation to the company Roccat to eliminate these errors quickly, but this is not necessary, because Roccat has the problem apparently already recognized himself and the Kone Pure in the "Military Edition" with another optical sensor fitted (R4 instead of R3). This has a corresponding control function in the driver menu. In addition, it can scan a maximum of 5000 instead of 4000 dpi. Does one not necessarily have, but it can not hurt either. Otherwise, the two mice - except for the color scheme - absolutely identical. I now have the Kone Pure Military Edition and am very pleased so far. No annoying "Gehopse" of the cursor more when lifting.
Conclusion: If you want to use the Kone Pure in the optical version, should rather bite "the bullet" and resort to Kone Pure militaryedition. Although this is currently (as of 30.12.2014) with just under 69.90 15.00 more expensive than the Kone Pure Optical, in my opinion, the charge in direct comparison but definitely worth it.
My long-term experience for life I'll gladly subsequently add to this review.
