Transmission speed and range are unsurpassed good, considering that even my neighbors an apartment diagonally below me 1-2 bar reception in the guest network and have the measured speed is still at 100Mbit. This created my predecessor (the 5th generation of a competitor model) not. Above all, I wanted to have a router that provides more of setting and function possibilities, which is why I gave the R7000 precedence.
Also one of the main reasons for the acquisition of R7000 was the advertised compatibility with Time Machine. Unfortunately worked the access via the attached to the USB port on the router hard drive not with Time Machine. While I can on the Mac via "clearances" to access the disk, but not to set up as a Time Machine disk. Apparently there is no support for OS 10.9 (Mavericks). But I'm optimistic, because I was told by the support that a corresponding firmware update to follow (the support request was promptly taken care of and friendly - thank you for that!).
