I am extremely disappointed with this product. Have the Mini-wet kit for my EOS 400D acquired, there were on the sensor finest oil droplets from mechanics. According to the manufacturer the Smear Away solution should be suitable exactly for it. In the 1st test, I have kept strictly to the manufacturer's instructions (enclosed is merely a meaningless images Doku, on the manufacturer's website there is a video). The result was shocking! Instead of a few, barely visible oil droplets I had now distributed a naked eye clearly visible lubricating film on the entire sensor. In the 2nd attempt, I then use a new swab with more smear-away solution. As before, a clear lubricating film could be seen. After that, I've been experimenting with the last two Swabs: First I went with a new soaked in smear Away Swab over the sensor and have further dried immediately after with another new Swab. Again, the result was far from satisfactory. There were other desperate and unsuccessful attempts with various wiping patterns. Then I decided to try it on the good old way: At the pharmacy, I bought 96% isopropanol for 75 cents 50 ml and the sensor cleaned so that with the help of Q-tips. After 5 minutes, the sensor was clean! On test patterns (f22, Focus infinity) can be seen any spots or smears more. Apart from the fact that the product did not work with me, the price of 20 euros for 4 injection-molded plastic parts is (production probably in the range of a few cents) with a few cm² cleaning cloth and 1 ml of fluid (allegedly Made in Canada) in my eyes outrageous and unjustifiable!
