Processor:
For all current apps and multitasking vernüftiges and 3D applications, clocked at 1.6GHz Rockchip (Cortex A9) is well prepared. For me the game Dead Space and Need for Speed 6 ran without stutter, or without long waits. The processor used is perhaps no longer the newest, and certainly not the best, but in this price range absolutely fine.
The panel / display:
Touch inputs are accepted from the tablet fast and flowing, but already falling on the first turn, which is not exactly the high display brightness. A work in the sun is hardly conceivable, since this not aussreichen the strongly reflective display + the low brightness. Here you can not attach the argument of the price range, however, because some competitor better displays block (as zbionik). Furthermore, I had to find a staggering display brightness when the tablet works. This is particularly annoying when you are for example an e-mail reads as at a bright background the fluctuating brightness quite disturbing. Last but not least is unfortunately installed above the display no glass, but a kind of plastic disc which, although properly processed for my taste and flexes not excessively, but this does not fit into the gesammtkonzept of otherwise perfectly Processed Tablets (aluminum and Co. ). For these reasons a star deduction!
Memory and connection options:
Archos built into the Tablet 8GB Memory which is a lower mediocrity even in this cost region. The memory can be expanded by up to 32GB via a micro SD card slot. Connect can be the Archos only via WiFi, but what is comparatively goes better. At least Bluetooth would, however, can be installed in the unit has been omitted up. However, since this was clearly before buying this restriction remains wertungslos.
Remaining impressions:
When unpacking striking the Archos delivers not a very thin tablet. With approximately 12mm it is still comfortable to hold. However, since up to 9 mm are possible here as well (in this price category) should be in this category refer to the rear seats, the Archos. In terms of processing a metal shell is certainly a major plus. Even otherwise, all gaps are very low on the device. The processing in general is very valuable to the display surface which is made of plastic and therefore not really want to fit into the picture.
During operation or charging, the tablet is very hot, which is quickly uncomfortable on your hands. Other Tablet be in games like "Dead Space" warm, but the temperature is compared with the Archos highest.
The battery life is normal but just when using not very long (about 3 hours under load). Negative to mention is the power adapter supplied during charging (about 6 hours) is very hot (about 40C). In addition, the Archos can not be loaded via the Micro USB port, which is no longer appropriate.
By a number of small negative points from the top I pull over from a star.
CONCLUSION:
For the money, certainly a good solution even if there are the same expensive alternatives that are even better in some areas. The i.onik DC 1500 for example costs about a similar amount, and has twice as much memory and a Bluetooth interface. Moreover, it is thinner and lighter. Those looking for a Tablet for the evening Couch surfing and here and there something power is needed good advice to the Archos. The only drawback might: Attaching Dratlos speakers remains a konektivität denied due to lack of Bluetooth.
Total tidy but it's better.
