The discovery of his homosexuality is here depicted in a sensitive and authentic way, the maze that takes the love story to materialize are exciting, and overall the story is taking, well built, and well closed. Very good script!
The author manages to escape from the trap of the homosexual tragedy thanks to its two main characters: friendly and well portrayed, they are profoundly human (they make mistakes, they are not idealized ...), and learns about the over several years: it is also there that makes this story so touching.
Speech part, can sometimes regret that heterosexual or portrayed as an idiot (but the story takes place over several years, and fortunately, some friends and relatives react much smarter these days).
But it is also the fact that dramaturgically this love is rejected is the strength of the story of this passion! And that's before so much injustice that the history of "Blue is a Warm Color" becomes universal, and it becomes necessary to be told. It becomes urgent to be read.
Finally, drawing side, the line is elegant and bright, but it is mostly the colors and processing environments that attract and mark the eye, and wear this graphic novel to the summits of the genre.
A great success, rightly awarded the Audience Award at Angouleme in 2011.
