All my devices were configured easily. My Toshiba LCD, the LG BluRay player, the Yamaha home theater system, and finally my Technisat receiver. The few keys that did not work with direct code entry, I got a call. It's so quick and easy to happen, that was almost a shame programiert than anything and the fun was over.
Even simpler is not easy. I have connected over 25 minutes four devices and several special functions such as the integrated media player of my Toshiba TV's, additional configuration. The most time-consuming was still reading the manual is kept very well understood in the rest. That was it but also already with the positives.
The negatives:
The keys are arranged unnatural for me. If the original remote control, these are smart so arranged that one without changing the grip with just one finger can reach the most essential buttons. Not with the One For All. The arrow keys and the Guide button are too far from each other so that you always have to spread away. The operation with a finger is not possible and is for finger exercise. Of course you could program one of the surrounding keys eg for the Guide function, but then this feature is missing to me at some point. So you have been wondering why the arrow keys with the functions Loud and Quiet and program and downs are so close to the main keys for these same functions listed, because you have thus a tight space for the same function two keys and others are who knows where to find.
The arrow keys are partially so stiff that would go through this remote control as Trainigsgerät for osteoarthritis sufferers. You have to really push very strongly to get a function. None of my other remotes has such stiff buttons. The annoying enormously over time. You press and nothing happens or you have for example to turn quieter eternally long press very strongly. Since the will relax in the evening to be patient exam.
The back has a kind of coating or material property like oiled rubber. I had constantly to feel greasy hands and felt the constant urge to wash my hands. The front side is coated While normal, but conveys a similar feeling as most keys from smooth plastic made.
Conclusion:
The technique is excellent. So simple and perfect to configure it is a pure joy. The use, however, is the horror show. Illogical and dual key arrangement and stiff buttons. I send the "thing" back and try to play with the Essence 4. This has, according to image a good arrangement of the keys. My original enthusiasm for this remote control is gone.
