The ZIP drive 250 I have been around for several years. I never had problems, but that changed a few months ago. The device is of poor quality, as well as the disks. Both are very fragile objects. I had 2 ZIP drives. The first had given up the ghost suddenly and dropped my ZIP disk no longer going so that I lost completely the content. Was totally desperate! The 2nd unit (younger than 1, more than 2 years old), has that selbige no longer recognized a few days ago all of a sudden during use of the disk. The disk I had already used several times and while I copied some data on my laptop, the disk broke all plötlich. The company Iomega has in terms of its equipment, anyway a bad reputation, but that can happen to you, I would have never thought possible. Since I had my data not saved to other ZIP disks (including floppy disks are not cheap), I have reams of data lost, irretrievably! In the future, I will renounce ZIP drives and work only with sticks and CD burners. This was absolutely a lesson. Meanwhile I assure all my data from again. Thankfully CD's are not as expensive as ZIP disks.
