+ Telephoto range of 80-200mm surprisingly convincing. Good image quality, the light intensity 1 / 6.3 at the full zoom was surprisingly flexible, strong figure and also applies well for snapshots in less than optimal lighting conditions (shade, considerable cloudiness, Sunset). Can you shoot well from the hand.
+ Telephoto 35-80mm convinced großteilig, which is dependent on the circumstances and distances to the subject. Key point for me: the closer, the better the result.
- The (more decisive for me) Wide range 18-30 mm against a real figure disaster. Strong, clearly visible blurring and chromatic and spherical aberrations clearly visible in the periphery of photographs taken under optimal conditions photo. Quality losses were factored in from the outset to the effect, but in the drama I did not expect so. Since even makes my "shard of glass" (Canon EF-S 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 IS Universal Zoom Lens (58mm filter thread, image stabilized, original commercial packaging)) significantly better shots !!
- At poor lighting conditions (eg large cut-off differences, Backlit, midday sun, hazy weather) großteilig failed, despite pole and UV-filter insert
+ Quite easily, and - Thank the Lords of Kobol - because the "Lock" well with Sniperstrap holiday dauerthaft to wear. (Without locking it takes otherwise 5 steps and the thing is fully extended! Typical Tamron !!)
+ Value for money still okay, from about 50 mm quite well applicable if you have another, good wide-angle lens case.
All in all I would recommend this property to the extent that it is fit to travel robust, with splashes etc. well get along, bringing above-mentioned advantages and it's just cheaper than many other travel zoom.
The deficits were for me surprisingly just in the wide-angle and not at the telephoto end, but this did not really shaken my attitude to Travel Zoom anyway. I knew what I bought there, it could have been really worse. I am so far satisfied than that I have to take on holiday with only one lens for a trip to the mountains or to the beach because I there only organizing holiday and not the next Vanity Fair Photoshoot with Keanu Reeves. For "important" opportunities or special locations and situations I can then targeted my Canon EF-S 60mm / 2.8 / USM Macro lens (52mm filter thread) or my Tokina AF 11-16mm / 2.8 lens for Canon DX take.
There are several pictures with details of recording key data (Exif) and detailed notes on this Review at product images (wear my user name in the picture) to demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of the objective. Unfortunately, you can not enlarge them, so I've been working with cut-outs. I hope you can see the extent.
