Buying criteria were
- Support apt-X for high quality audio streaming over Bluetooth
- An optical output for connection to the devil 2.1 system
- Parallel store pairing information multiple Bluetooth devices
- Auto-Connect the already-paired-ge en Bluetooth devices
- Workable range> 5m
All these criteria are met the deleyCON Bluetooth adapter in practical use and is for the price of less than 40, - a very price worthy purchase.
In detail, it looks like this:
The unit is supplied in a cardboard package valued incl. German operating instructions. The delivery includes the adapter, a fairly compact power adapter, a Jack / jack connection cable and a jack / RCA cable for connection to a traditional analog amplifier. The adapter itself has a simple plastic case, which is not run particularly high - but that falls due to the size barely's weight and is hardly to be expected at the price.
Unpacked power supply, connected to the adapter and via optical TOSLINK cable (which has to be bought!) Associated with the devil 2.1 set, that's it with the structure. The blue LED will flash, the device is ready for pairing. When streaming client I use a Nokia Lumia 820 mobile phone with Windows Phone 8.1, which now supports apt-x since the last update for the Bluetooth audio streaming. Pairing using NFC is a breeze: Simply hold the phone to the adapter, the phone then confirm the pairing dialogue and both devices are paired. The LED will light up continuously.
After that you can start the audio transmission on mobile music player, web radio clients, videos Anything else transmitted on mobile phone on the audio output is now transmitted via Bluetooth. The volume control on the phone also does not corrode, which extremely simplifies operation, as you do not also need the remote control of the audio system. When dialed at least the Lumia switches back to the phone speaker good. Once gepaird my Lumia reconnects automatically with the adapter: Bluetooth on the phone Turn on the wars. Other devices may only be connected when the adapter is free, which means you can not throw each other out of the connection. The adapter saves up to 8 pairing.
Now for the sound and that's actually a pretty subjective issue. But since the entire transmission path from cell phones to audio system now is digital, the adapter should take no influence and the fact he does not. If I send a piece of music from alternative mobile lossless over a WiFi / DLNA adapter via optical cables to the vicious system, then that sounds the same as for the transfer via deleyCON adapter. It can be heard no noise, no latency and the quality of the leaked data is mercilessly exposed. MP3s on the phone with bad bit rate sound then really nice mushy and audio streams with AAC and good quality are a really nice hurled in return around the ears. Even web radio streams with AAC codec simply listen to terrific. To compare the digital and analog transmission of deleyCON adapter for audio system I tested the alternative connectivity via analog phone jack and always back to the audio system between analogue and digital input and forth connected. For MP3s with medium quality you hardly hear a difference, a little lacking dynamism and the highs are not quite as clear. In higher quality audio, the difference is even clearer, but the built-in D / A converter at least seems to have a decent quality. The volume is also almost identical in both transmission paths. Personally, I would have expected a bigger difference. Everything
Missing coverage and dropouts in the transmission seem a vexed issue in adapters of the same type (blueLino, Marmitek, Auvisio,) to be in parts. The deleyCON adapter can be stably driven in all areas of my living room 30 square meters, the longest distance is a straight line approximately 6m. Even from the distant kitchen 4m go still through a glass door without problems. Once massive concrete walls come into play, then ists past with the good connection. Realistically you should expect that you can stream without any problems from the same room out, and this corresponds to my usage behavior at a AdHoc use Bluetooth to 100%. (The neighbor should indeed eventually can not board my Teufel system ;-) Here the adapter do not get too hide but place with sight into the room. For greater coverage requirement should be to better wireless based technologies rely (eg Terratec Airbeats HD, etc.) that are simply not as comfortable and Ad Hoc are but be set up as the great adapter of deleyCON.
To sum things up for the adapter to issue a strong buy recommendation: great features (apt-x, NFC, optical output), easy to setup and use, no sound distortions, useful range, all under 40, - !!!
