I'm torn when it comes to assessing the Universal Tablet Car Holder.
I take this car holder for Tablet Odys Xpress 8 ".
Basically, it's a very good car cradle, which also looks very valuable.
What particularly appealed to me in buying this mount, was the 4 claws-holding system. This system is flexible usable. So you can attach other devices with a corresponding counterpart to this restraint system of universal tray car cradle.
The swing arm can rotate 360 degrees, so you can use the tablet both in portrait or landscape format. By non-slip rubber pads and the grid system the arm and the tray are securely held.
The installation is easy to do quickly and without additional tools.
So far, I'd give the Universal Tablet Car Holder 5 star without limitation.
Unfortunately, there are 2 points that reduce the overall impression.
1. The negative point is the terminal closure for the headrest (see inset picture with attached notes). This is much too small. By that I mean that the headrest rods m. E. not likely to be greater than 10 mm in diameter. In my car the headrest rods are 14 mm in diameter. The clamp broke already with little effort :-(
Remedy:
I bought from the hardware store strap with metric thread and cut it to length (approximately 20 mm). Along with locking nut and washer larger now sits the car holder bombproof on the headrest (picture to follow).
2. On the back of the swing arm is the note above ". Now if you an arm as specified at 4 locks claw holding system, the arm falls along with the tray down. The reason is that the notches on the back of the swing arm wrong .. are attached The smaller and narrower notches need upwards rather than facing down If the swivel arm is rotated 180 °, he sits Although fixed in 4 claws-holding system but then are the two further apart standing holding arms above this limit.. - as in my case -. tablets, which have operation buttons above and since not all apps represent itself in all positions, I can not mount by 180 ° the tray.
Remedy:
With a little effort and appropriate tools can cut the narrower notches on the back of the swing arm itself up / milling / drilling / filing.
Conclusion:
Basically 5 stars if you headrest rods with max. 10 mm in diameter and the tablet o. Ä. in any orientation (360 °) can be used without restriction.
3 star deduction for ...
- The terminal closure is much too small, was thus not made for all headrest rods breaks very quickly
- The notches are placed incorrectly on the back of the swing arm and thus the Car Holder can be used only to a limited
