In detail: The concept of "actions", with which one can control multiple devices at the same time, turn on for example the cable box and the TV with a single command, and then automatically to control the receiver to change channels and the TV volume control, is awesome. The idea of the link with a touch screen to be able to display variable quasi buttons and functions is good. The vibration function will probably serve to provide haptic feedback when keys are operated on the display, and the activation of the display and keypad illumination on accelerometer is quite reasonable.
Programming the remote control, however, deserves no praise. Of the four equipment that I wanted to drive, I had to readjust in three, namely even such fundamental things like turning on and off. This concerns for example a TV that two years is older than the Harmony Ultimate product line, but much younger than the existence of the allegedly large device database of Logitech. In addition, change the language settings at random when the surface of the Harmony software on the PC in a different language operates as the remote control. (The problem is Logitech known.)
Moreover, one can not change the built-in battery; is once broken, you have to buy a new remote control at home. In the worst case that is then probably having to spend every other year 140.
Here the remote control would, however, still deserves a solid 3 star, and I would have it, though overpriced, keep. My main point of criticism is, however, the following: The thing whistles. I do not think that the whistling tube behemoths were finally replaced, just to get the Fiepsen fetches remote control back into the living room. And what it's really sad: Once entered as a search term in DuckDuckGo, found that the a * problem * series is that occurs in older Harmony generations, and has been known for years.
And the reason also: It is up to electronic components that have to do with the way the buttons light. Mind you, not on the display! I've tried this: If you screw the key illumination down to zero, stops whistling. That lit already for 15 years remotes existed which got along without whistles, this is unacceptable. With up to 30 I would have even opened up the remote and saw the whole thing as SMD craft practice, but at 140, I expect something else. I use since mid-90 Logitech devices, this here is the first one that I return because of dissatisfaction.
Conclusion: definitely not Conceptually, a Logitech product, by technology. The for great product idea I will still be the second star.
