Anyone wishing to use with full-frame lenses with similar speed and best image quality, drags considerably more Wiped (+ 1kg) at a purchase price also significantly higher around with you.
Image Quality:
=========
That's just amazing - since the 75mm 1: 1.8 fixed focal length, I was convinced of Olympus lenses. This Tele competes problems (related to the resolution) with my Canon 1: 4L 70-200mm IS USM. Even at full aperture, the outer corners are sharp and without visible edge drop. The lens focuses on the entire zoom range rapidly and very reliable.
Workmanship:
=================
The new Pro-Series (which includes this telephoto lens is one) is splash proof and dustproof and freezeproof to -10 ° C. The tube is made entirely of metal (aluminum) and a standard lens clamp included. The lens hood is only front mounted latching on the lens. Then you can with a slight left turn GO UP the aperture on the lens and let let down to eg not always decrease for transporting the lens hood must. Good construction!
Extended delivery - focal length extender MC-14
============================================
I ordered the lens along with the MC-14 focal length extender (1.4x). Mounted one selfsame between lens and camera, you get an incredible 210mm focal length (= 420mm Kleinblidbrennweite) - but you lose a diaphragm, so that now begins the open aperture at f4. Still, this is based on price and weight, the best alternative if you want to quickly advance in such focal lengths. The image quality suffers, in my view not - but also shifts the focal length extender the focal point again, so that at some point this passes, the camera (in my case: M1) to the right and keep the lens in the lens clamp.
Interaction with the M1 with battery handle.:
==================================
This is now a stately package and unfortunately the MFT advantage is a bit tempered by the weight of the lens. But again: would you as a light intensity and image quality at full frame cameras, comparable optical values "heavy" and are still clearly "more expensive". Only loses a M1 this very lightweight appearance a bit when this message is set.
Conclusion:
=====
In terms of speed and best image quality and weather resistance is objectively far no competition. I can not detect any errors or weaknesses in my previous shootings. But one thing is fairness mentioned because still: I have often pointed out in this review to comparable full-frame lenses. Of course, a full-frame sensor is significantly larger and if one rated light levels, it would be fair to compare average intensities, since the sensor sizes vary nunmal. In practice, therefore, the perspective from my point of view but because it has made a conscious decision for MFT and light intensity viewed in a shooting situation as an absolute value, with which you now want to / have to work.
For a truly excellent lens impeccable I give good conscience 5 Stars. Buy recommendation.
