At first I was skeptical because the Verbatim eSATA models pursuing a seemingly preisagressive policy and one wonders where there has been spared on the product.
After about 6 weeks intensive, daily use, I must clearly contradict the assessment of my pre-reviewers (with perhaps singularly less good experiences).
Benefits:
- Is little more than lukewarm, even after several hours of operation.
- Unexcited, simple and so pleasant design.
- Compact stackable - solid processed.
- To hear when accessing hardly (stand next to my LCD on the desktop). Then I hear a lot more of my RAID under the table and the fan from Dell as these plates next to me.
- The LED might be discreet so as not to annoy by Geflackere. One can also, cover the but. Have here a Revoltec are ..... UUUAAAAhHHH - the blue, flickering LED is nice, but makes me blind.
- The flickering corresponds clearly with the access. The fact that the LED will flicker randomly I can not understand.
- I have not measured, since the criterion in everyday use is less crucial, even with large amounts of data transfer rates. Work / Bewegungssdaten I get from my RAID0. The backup runs in the background on the Verbatim USB active hub. Then the short USB cable is more suitable and enjoyable as disturbing. For me, the HUB is near the LCD and the plates.
- The back button is not a problem. The probe responds properly. OK, if I want to start 5 disks simultaneously, then this may annoy that is not switchable via a bar. But ... in such cases I'll get nen clever SOHO RAID HD enclosure.
- Warranty seal is product politically totally ok and certainly not uncommon. I as PM or manufacturer did not want because the Frickler equal rumschrauben off to return to the thing the next moment but.
Disadvantages:
- When a video archive that will drive too fast full ;-)
- The user interface and functionality of the included Nero BackItUp 4 Essentials I have annoyed me terribly and they rejected as unusable. Too Bad. I would not use this software anyway yields that for me no penalty. Is halt so a typical add-on, which should be determined not buying criterion but.
