With the 2012 version Acronis Cloud led a memory and Datensynchronsiation.
Both, unfortunately, with limited success, as it first did not and later possibly limited work.
Unlike some other users, however, the creation of Images and cloning of hard disks with me always and that works with different computers and saved me in the past on several occasions against data loss and annoying new installations of the operating system.
Worth upgrading to the 2013 version? -> I mean: No
Acronis True Image comes in the year and probably also because WIN 8 own backup functions will bring (vergleicbar with Time Machine from MacOS), you try with the 2013 version rather expand and improve "border areas", to which the buyer of an Image software settles little value. At least, it's me.
New in the 2013 version
supporting WIN 8 (although it will probably hardly need it here)
the introduction of apps for accessing the cloud storage (since there are many others that the cheaper and probably better - eg Dropbox)
a web-based interface for the cloud (see above)
.... and that's about it - the rest are marginal improvements that justify at most a free upgrade, but not upgrade.
Conclusion:
Who is happy with the version in 2011 or 2012, can save the money for the upgrade.
Anyone who wants to upgrade to Win 8, can save buying, because Win 8 improved BackUp functions will bring.
Who still does not have Image software and do not want to upgrade to Win 8, ME can access.
