Since I have the backpack, I was so several times in short trips (air travel) and on many weekends (car and on foot) on tour. Anticipation of a thing that can be disturbing: The risers and the back are in the dirt, if you want the photo equipment. However, that is in almost all backpacks so (Remedy see below). Otherwise, I am very satisfied. The original main reason for buying was the height-adjustable harness - otherwise it would have the vertex can be 200 (the true is not so pretty, but up some lower in price). Today I want to ProTrekker 400 exchanged for anything else. At a certain height, the lap belt of the backpack sits in your stomach rather than on your hips. Then passes through the belt but no relief and one carries all the weight (in size can be sometimes 14kg) on the shoulders. This is inconvenient and passes me so happy sometimes quickly the pleasure of photographing. The lap belt is removable, I find when traveling by air very positive: The backpack fits better in the luggage compartment (lap belt goes before in the trunk). If then also lift the cover (Waistbelttasche / daypack), the backpack is even smaller (optical). Visually I like the ProTrekker very good - but that's persönllicher taste. Anyway, the khaki-green seems inconspicuous than the usual photographers black. Also a kind of Diebstalsprävention. The backpack het an exterior pocket for a hydration bladder incl. Opening for performing the drinking tube. I'll never use in a way - but in the tray I give my little 0.5 liter thermos. Also included is a waterproof bag. Since I give into my thermos and it may also, in the case of the cases (expiry of the pot) happen. The layout of the other outer panel is quite appropriate. 'Ve Got a Novoflex Basic Ball (Novoflex Basic Ball titan / blue) with Novoflex CB3 (Novoflex Classic Ball 3) housed. In addition, there are still some card slots and pockets. My surgical tech Rain Cover for camera and lens I stowed there. Dei tripod mount on the lid compartment is chosen unfavorably. My Gitzo Carbon weighs 2kg head. More I do not expect the bracket. In addition, notebook and stand in the could get "wool", if both are simultaneously transported. The Notebook compartment is in the cover directly under the tripod mount. The two other official tripod mounts on the sides, I think also for suboptimal. When traveling, I give the tripod into the trunk (could otherwise also at the security checkpoint of the airports are critical). "In the field" I have the notebook then not there. Otherwise, there would be two straps at the bottom of the backpack, which could keep the tripod (even a significantly heavier). "In the" I've got my Walkstool (Walkstool Comfort 65 XXL) housed. The upper is robust. The rain cover is pulled over quickly, in addition to adapt and protect as expected even before strong rain. Three times I had to pretty quickly bring the overcoat sewn in position. The inside of the backpack always remained dry. An equipment I bring at: 5D, 100-400, 24-105, 24 and 45 and 90 TS-E, 100 Macro, 50 Macro, some Lee-filter holder and adapter rings, remote shutter, small items such as pocket knives and Headlamp Petzl headlamp Zipka Plus. In this filling no more space for chargers remains (ie from then into the trunk). Cards I bring in the special card slots in under the lid. The marking (blank or pre-recorded) I find success. As advantage for me as the consistent depth of the main compartment of 16cm. So kan nich the 5D accommodate edgewise what brought me space for an additional lens or other accessories. A small snack I bring under the detachable belt bag / in the lid. There is then also a small first aid bag (caution when traveling by air: scissors into the trunk).
The price tag is already a lot. However, I regret not a single euro. As I said, people up to 180cm may well be happy with the Vertex 200. Against pollution of the carrier I use a foldable seat cover with (is stowed in the compartment with the thermos) and place them among the backpack. Or I briefly build on the Walk tool and put the backpack on it. Thus, the reason for a possible points deduction is de facto no longer an issue.
I am using the ProTrekker 400 AW on target my pocket dreams: Very well made, I like it, really good functional details, superb fit and what does not fit in the 400, can / I do not want to carry more in weight (fully and with notebook is already pretty heavy).
Looking forward to next weekend's. Since it is in the Berchtesgaden National Park. Let's meet? You recognize me in the blue anorak, a 5D with Lee filter holder and a ProTrekker 400AW. I'll show you the backpack also like ...
