Unlike the Apple separately sold adapters Lightning-to-SD and Lightning to USB you get here both in one (plus another card / stick-Slots: MS Duo, M2, T-Flash). I have the adapter to an iPad mini (1st generation) with SD card (SDHC Transcend 32 GB) and two different USB sticks tried (Verbatim 64GB and 32GB Intenso). Both worked without an additional power supply. However, I have found that you have to make sure (at least it was in my case) that the Lightning connector is right side up plugged into the iOS device. The power indicator of the adapter will light pink / purple. If you put the Lightning connector upside down in the iOS device, then the power indicator light up only in low red and neither SD card even USB flash drive can be detected. Because the Lightning connector appears purely visually to be the same on both sides, I looked at the marked "right" side with a pen. In principle, there are of course to say that you (as in - held in grammatically bad English - instructions mentioned) should especially in USB flash drives, make sure that a DCIM folder is created on the drive and the file names of the files in it 8-ziffrig (eg "ABCD1234") are, because only then can be accessed on pictures and videos through the iOS device. With SD card used in cameras DCIM folder and files are indeed created as a rule by the camera itself and you need not to worry about it, just SD card pure and good. Music and other documents can be in this way not transferred, only photos and videos! Overall, this adapter is quite recommendable, a star deduction is available for the little bit robust processing as do the two separate adapter from Apple better, wertigeren impression.
